Mozart wrote:Yeah it's definitely possible, it sure would be tough to top the craziness of the TH pre-release. If I had to speculate, I'd say they've actually finished the album at this point. They are ostensibly mastering it in a meticulous fashion, making sure everything is perfect to them.
Remember this quote: "We're definitely vintage hardware freaks. We've always used older gear. Everything we use is decrepit. Our studio is full of wooden things covered with red LEDs. We'll go to great lengths to get hold of a specific instrument just to get a particular sound. For example, there's a sound in Cold Earth (Tomorrow's Harvest) that is something like only one second of audio. It comes from an obscure old effect unit that cost us a lot of time and road miles to source, and it ended up being one second of audio on the record."
If I had to guess, they are probably doing stuff like that right about now; adding little tidbits onto an already 99.5% complete album. They have always been exceptional composers when it comes down to telling a story through music. All of their albums thus far have had seamless flow, from start to finish. There is not a doubt in my mind that the next release will prove that opinion. I think that the brothers probably get quite the kick out of adding the little tidbits onto their music, fun things like back-masking opportunities, hidden messages, strange and obscure voice-lines, and all that jazz. Like we can infer from the aforementioned quote, it seems that their choice of hardware is very important to their process of musical compositions. They literally went through all that effort for one second of audio. The world hasn't seen such meticulous musicians since Lugwig van Beethoven (he counted exactly 60 beans of coffee each morning)

Haha that is an incredibly bad transfer, as it goes. There is genuinely a part of it that fades into computer static because (I am guessing) they had their tape player right next to their PC when recording it. Nothing that gives it away as a fake as much as that.
Edit: Listen to the 5.9.78 fade out if you want to know what I mean.
