Album release has always been hard-coded into the forum to trigger automatically when Cups turns 10,000.

i'm good to wait a couple more revolutions around the sun. they sit with their music for a long time, and I reckon that's vital to achieve the affect we've all fallen in love with. so the seemingly long wait seems to be what's best for the music and listener

I sat at my desk, whiskey in hand, for about 45 minutes last night trying to figure this one out. No closer to the truth now than the first minute I started, lol.

Yes, that is fine with me too. However, I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't welcome the new album tomorrow morning. I tend to be a pretty patient person so the wait doesn't necessarily bother me. It will be something worth waiting for-- that much I know in my heart.

Don't forget that fans only waited 3 years for Campfire Headphase, so anything is possible. I bet they're just waiting for a strategic moment, or a time that feels right to them. The end result will no doubt be satisfying for all of us.

He did say the box set would come after "the new album" aka TH so I hope that's still true.
this thread is full of shenanigans.

I sure hope so, that would be tons of new music, plus all of the leaked stuff revamped and in actual hi quality.

Yeah. At this point I've resorted to attempting inverted noise reduction on R35 and old tunes trying to make them sound slightly better then what I started out with and would rather listen to studio versions of there old material then some old wrangled tape mixed in with noise reduction with a topping of poor mp3 compression.
this thread is full of shenanigans.

I don't think the fabled bocset will ever see the light of day, regardless of what MDG said. (I say this hoping to be proven wrong.)

I tend to think that it will happen, but estimate that it could be as far out as the end of BoC's career. Remember that interview where they said they will be giving their kids all of their music? Well if I had to guess it won't come to their kids releasing the music, rather Marcus and Mike will make the decision at a time that feels right. The following statements may sound slightly off-the-wall, but I have a theory on this. Their entire musical careers, fans have learned next to nothing about their process behind the scenes, how exactly they compose, what approaches they take, etc. I'm not going to say that at the end of BoC's last album/release they will suddenly appear on a 60 Minutes interview or release a documentary about their musical careers. But what I do think is that they will give some type of nod to the fan who has dedicated a vast amount of their interest into them. People like you and I.

From what I can gather, BoC would rather take their time in between their works, to make sure they are produced their own idea of pure music. Sometimes I wish they'd be more aggressive with their musical output, like Schubert or Mozart ( 8) ) did, but that would refute what I first said about their idea of pure music (at least during their active years as focusing on their "art"). They don't take the approach of releasing music as often as a cow urinates, but we can all assume that they have been that prolific in private. Ostensibly they have mounds and mounds of music, some half written, some thought not strong enough to be on an album or EP, some just plain silly...all right there on a harddrive somewhere. Take Old Tunes and multiply it by 100, if we're being conservative about it. I remember reading once that they had like 50 or so contenders for the album The Campfire Headphase. I can't even imagine how much stuff they've worked on and have saved somewhere. Before BoC releases their last album, they just may release a ton of those sketches of music, just to satiate the hardcore fans. While I could certainly be wrong, I can't help but have a good feeling about it. Remember listening to A is to B as B is to C backwards and hearing "we love you all"? Well, maybe that gets me feeling a little bit too optimistic, but a man can dream. It's going to be interesting to see how it pans out.

These fake BOC tapes remind me of the toughest times catching rare Black Metal stuff. RELEASE THE BLOODY BOX GODDAMIT! And the first two albums too... You've got Warp rec. backing you up on this guys.

Where is everyone? why is there a lack of far fetched number theories?

My only input to a new release being on the cards is that i may have been told to "Stay tuned  " by a particular someone who may or may not have info on a new release. Could have been about another subject we briefly spoke about.. maybe not. who knows!
Im sure we all know theres probably going to be a new release at some point though.
