Take the Whitney Houston profile pic for example. That photo hasn't been seen (AFAIK) anywhere but the Sheol Boundary channel 8 years ago. And that channel is even obscure among BoC fans. No one still active on twoism remembers it but me (unsurprisingly). It doesn't turn up in image search.

So it seems like either both are legit or both are fake and done by the same person.

Or maybe it’s you who did all this? The parody, the inverse profile picture,... don’t know why any respectable member would do this though.

The word itself is not in the modern lexicon. Nobody on Twoism would have search the word Sheol before it was mentioned here.

Also find it strange how that thread died out and nobody followed up on it in all these years, until recently when OP brought it back up.

That's why I mentioned, pages back, the image I have in my mind of M&M smiling mischievously as they work in their studio. I think they are both fully aware of what their fans may investigate - but *I* am also fully aware that some of these 'clues' or 'breadcrumbs' may not mean anything at all. I do think something's in the works for this year - but also the very real possibility that the current 'activity' is a red herring meant to engage fans in a discordian way.

You nailed it. The stuff on the HI page I feel were either to test our reaction, or simply there to showcase their sense of humor. I think it still shocks me that some people don't know BOC have a sense of humor since a lot of their music sounds so serious. Hopefully now that will change

BOC have even said themselves in an interview circa Geogaddi that people often miss the humor in their music but it's there. I think A is to B is to C is one of the best examples of that.

Just did my fortnightly check-in. I'm very lost - can someone please summarize what happened? Black banners?

Hell Interface uploaded a new profile picture on Facebook that looked like a "demon" or "alien" version of Whitney Houston on April 5th. On the same day, they updated their banner photo to the mysterious "Pioneer Plaque" that was uploaded to the Hell Interface YT channel in September I believe.

Then two days ago on April 7th, both the profile picture and the banner are completely black with both photos no longer on the page.

There was also a video that was uploaded that contained a scene from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' with the nazi melting but it was edited with 'I Got You (I Feel Good)' by James Brown playing.

Sorry to keep editing but figured I would put you in the loop if you have not noticed that a fan video of "Heard From Telegraph Lines" was uploaded to Boards Of Canada official Facebook page yesterday. There's been an awakening, or so it seems.

EGBDF posted a eo analyzing BoC's music. Sheol Boundary posted their video, which was an edited version of the original, in the comments of EGBDF's video,which is why he knew about it. They had apparently signed up the same day they posted the video, so it's not in the least suspicious he found the video the day after the account was created - you get notifications when people comment on your videos.

He had a thread about his music theory video on Twoism, made a brief mention of the Sheol Boundary video because he thought someone was pranking him, then left it alone for more than 7 years. He only recalled it because he recognized the Whitney Houston picture that was posted on the Hell Interface page the other day.

There is zero grounds to accuse RGBDF of lying or making this up and making no mention of a prank as elaborate as that would have to be for over 7 years does not strike me as realistic at all

I also have the blue dot on mine, but apparently that might be a bug with YT (specifically on desktop client).

Okay definitely was confused- thanks for giving me the rundown! The Sheol comment on his video is definitely the BIG part I was missing.

I’m totally cool with the next BoC album being nothing but Joni Mitchell covers.

Joni is definitely significant to BOC, especially in their use of suspended chords. She once said that songwriters she admired would tell her she was misusing suspended chords in her songs, that they create a feeling of being suspended and that listeners want to be grounded on the tonic, but she said suspended chords made sense for her because her life was in a constant state of suspension--there was no convenient resolution in life. That philosophy and use of chords directly ties in with BOC's chord theory. And that 4-3-1 melodic pattern discussed in EGBDF's video also ties into this, so the very nature of the Sheol Boundary parody brings us back to Joni.

Rereading the head-spinning last 10 pages, makes me think that there might be something more dastardly going on. A hoax or a late April Fool's prank. But it's impossible to tell since there was activity from both the suspicious accounts (the HI facebook, Seoul Boundary, Marcus account) and the confirmed accounts (Facebook, Twitter.)

This is either a prank one-upping Catherine Fell or one giant disinformation clusterfuck that might be related to the theme of the next album.

Either way, it's been fun and no hard feelings. Anything that gets fifty people on the site brings joy to my heart.
