Hey, anybody notice that on Bocpages the page for "sunshine recorder" has a link about the Isle of Man? Click the external link that talks about a sunshine recorder. I didn't change it.
Could it be a cryptic clue?

NIN led me to Aphex Twin's 'I Care Because You Do', Warp Records and the whole 'IDM' genre. Then through Trent Reznor's Nothing Records I discovered Autechre's 'LP5' in 1998. After realizing that, like Aphex Twin, Autechre was on Warp (being distributed by Nothing in the US), i bought the CD. Then Warp led me to MHTRTC and the rest is history.
Nine Inch Nails is my favorite band partly because of what I discovered due to them and Nothing Records. BoC is a close second.
Looks like I have more in common with you than meets the eye.
Very similar story for me as well! First NIN lead to to Aphex, then mucking about on cdnow, I checked out the similar artists to Aphex Twin, saw the Twoism EP, had a listen to Iced Cooly and just about fell over! It was EXACTLY what I was looking for! For the longest time, I felt that I was meant to discover this band. I still do, but you lose sight of that when stuck in the purgatory waiting game after digesting everything they have available. Time. Is a funny thing.
NIN was my favorite band for YEARS. I attempted to collect everything they had done (all because of those fucking Halo catalog numbers!). I kind of stopped after With Teeth though.

I live in Edinburgh, have never met the guys face to face - once saw Marcus walking down Princes Street but didn't want to hassle the poor guy about Boards-related-geekiness so respected his privacy and left him well alone - but my friend who does know them really well seems to think that the reason for a delay in any material might stem from the fact that Warp owe them money .... quite a lot by the sounds of it and have done for some time .... make of this what you will - I spoke to him about this yesterday so consider this up-to-date news / gossip .....

If BOC ever wanted to move from Warp, I'm sure that there would be any number of labels out there who would jump at the chance to have BOC on their roster. The problem I guess would be (a) major labels wouldn't put up with the 0% fan/media contact and ice-age gaps between records and (b) even the more well known indies (Kranky for one) who would probably more more willing to play along, probably wouldn't have the financial clout to 'go legal' to acquire BOC from Warp.
I wonder how many albums BOC are signed up to release through Warp? Anyone know???
Interesting train of thought though.

because they have a contract, for 5 lps if i'm not mistaken. and i doubt warp would have any problems with boc's releasing schedule. every label has a few artists that are on their roster not for money, but rather prestige. it is also ridiculous to consider the problem being on warp's part. accept the reality, guys, stop blaming random people.
