With that one I wonder if it's something that's unreleased, by someone they personally know. I have friends who've made albums but have never been signed.

I agree with irv. I'm willing to bet that song is an unreleased song from an amateur band that the brothers personally knew.

I figured out the mystery of the Mass (that I thought sounded straight out of Mozart's Requiem) that played shortly @ 59:28. Pauline Oliveros - Bye Bye Butterfly

Edit: Oh shit it was already in the track listing >.<

I think Irv could well be right on that. We knew from the onset that there was a solid chance that some of the tracks would never be identified due to the eclectic nature of their tastes and the fact that some could well be near enough unavailable online. I think expanding on that and saying that some are likely from the cassettes sent to them by friends who make music but don't publish it is a good observation.

I would like to go back slightly on what I said on the previous page. Given the far from normal circumstances NTS was operating under over the weekend with the Warp takeover especially, there is a chance they don't have a comprehensive list of tracks and could well be going primarily from audience identification.

I still think that it is slightly odd that they wouldn't have a record, at least after it was performed, of the sources of each track. As far as copyright is concerned, I suppose that only the identifiable tracks would bring with them any potential issue anyway as others would be so obscure as to not be in the catalogues of major labels.

No one’s treating this like an ARG and it’s not *just* a collection of tunes by other bands. There was a fair bit of original work in there including remixing, mash-ups, classic BoC vignettes with manipulated TV clips, etc. As with anything BoC has ever done there’s a lot to dig into.

If you don’t care to go beyond just listening to the tunes that’s cool but it’s not like people have no reason to be excited.

It doesn’t look like it’s been mentioned yet, but the interlude around 1:49:30 (after the 33.10.3402 track) struck me as having a similar ring to Opening The Mouth and the bit in You Could Feel The Sky between 3:10 and 4:00 after the percussion ends. I wonder if these share samples.

Yeah definitely reminds me of that- so much so that I have trouble believing that it wasn't in some way/shape/form created out of or inspired from You Could Feel The Sky. Great catch!

I'm in the process of creating a clip combining all the vignettes and confirmed and/or highly suspected original BoC tracks together. I'll link when it's done and uploaded.

Alright, here it is. I only included sections that are either known to be original, heavily remixed/manipulated, or, in 2 cases, that I am 99% sure are original BoC tracks. Much of what appears here would be perfectly at home on A Few Old Tunes, where mash-ups, snippets of TV shows, porn soundtracks, and clips of found sound are commonplace.

I saw a guy upload a similar mix on Facebook but his was over 45 minutes long and included tracks known to not be original, so I was hoping for something a little more accurate.

So the interludes etc. aren't mentioned in the tracklist, it seems they might be made by BoC themselves after all.

Well BoC are credited for one track so I don't see why there should be more by them if it isn't listed. A couple of samples thrown in here and there but we're just going back into old tunes territory.. We aren't going to know what is them and what isn't BoC until MDG or the brothers say something.
Im not wanting to let happen what happens before and that's basically having a folder of tracks I'm listening to only to be told years later it's fake only in this case not by them

The reason that one is labeled while the others aren’t is that it’s obviously a blatant remix including parts of Aquarius. There’s no point in trying to hide that one lol.

This was a 2-hour mix put together by BoC themselves including multiple mashups, remixes, and Old Tunes-style vignettes. It totally makes sense that they hid a couple of their own originals in there.

I agree there probably are some bits and bobs by them in there, Its just we won't get any confirmation which is what doesn't sit well with me. Its just unknown and will remain that way.
They usually put their name to anything they release

please forgive me if we’re not supposed to discuss sharing downloads on this forum, but does anybody have a copy of the mix with the songs split up and labeled correctly?

All I have is a single 2 hour .mp3 and I would love to be able to skip around and listen with ease. Thanks!

I hope they put together some kind of album for this mix. Or they release something soooon, and maybe have that mix as an "extra" to the album. But who knows. I just hope its soon. Id also like a full release of all their old works. Unless we already have all of those. But i know there has to be a plethora of things they have sitting around. For how many years it is between the stuff they released. There has to be lots of "unfinished works" well i digress. Im sure we will get some kind of playlist from them soon.
