I was joking right back, relax.

Lot of bands I listen to were in their prime from about 88-92ish.

^ The first bad I ever remember listening to was Pearl Jam

Although, I was born in 90 so its a little harder to appreciate

Your birth year doesn't make it any different to appreciate music. The only drawback is you can potentially miss out on seeing bands live in their prime.

well, it kinda does. context and all.
like if you were watching all the David Koresh stuff fold out "back in the day," then IABPOITC would probably hold a deeper meaning for you. not too much, but ever so slightly deeper.

Pretty much what I was getting at.

The wait is just making this better. Too many musicians follow the same standard progression from one album to another. I like the irregularity. I am starting to like the silence. I mean, its nice when someone like, say 311 or incubus (they just released new stuff) threw out a couple of singles before the album drop. Even when in the studio, both the bands had early versions of songs they released. Its cool and all, but I could tell right from the start that I wasn't going to like either of the albums. So I didn't buy them.

Im buying BoCs no matter what though

I completely agree with you on this one. BoC follows a sort of "Classic" form of output. Not reminding their fans every two seconds about their upcoming album over twitter or facebook. BoC, is unbelievably refreshing and breathtaking, to say the least, because they do things like this. It's the mystery that makes us love them so much.

I always have debates with myself as to where this new album is going to go stylistically. Sometimes I think with the world events that have passed since The Campfire Headphase would influence and suggest a darker, solitary and claustrophobic album, much like Geogaddi. But then I always felt that TCH was an initial step into a more psychedelic/organic framework, a fresh start perhaps. Maybe the album will have a more whimsical feel like MHTRTC..
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

Guessing guest vocalists/rappers on this one. Because?

- The officially blessed Solange Knowles sing-along-a-BoC tracks. Were these like auditions or try-outs to see what her voice would sound like over their stuff?
- Dead Dogs Two, nuff said. Nice to think that was a toe in the water into doing something with them.
- It's about the only place they've never gone

Then there's the "out of our hands" delay in releasing it: well, nothing like collaborators to slow things up ;) Either getting their parts done, or getting clearance to release it. All 100% pure speculation on my part though,

please, no more Solange vocals. perhaps with boc having control over her vocals it could work...otherwise, no. definitely no.

If I had to wait years and years to have some vocals, I'll be incredibly disappointed.
Although, you're right, I could see them doing it.
Please, please no.

Oh I don't know about that, they never touched dark ambient and hundreds of other styles and interactions, in fact they've been rather silo-ed into their own uniqueness, which is what makes it so amazing, never the same, but yet never running far from their established style, at least as far as the official releases show.

And I find the idea of lyrics a la Solange VERY disturbing, that would be a deal breaker to Me...
