So ,has anybody already identified the part after the kanap song and before Angel Child?

The song that starts with the female vocals, and the ambient part that comes after that song that floats into Angel Child is even better!

Much of what appears here would be perfectly at home on A Few Old Tunes, where mash-ups, snippets of TV shows, porn soundtracks, and clips of found sound are commonplace.

I saw a guy upload a similar mix on Facebook but his was over 45 minutes long and included tracks known to not be original, so I was hoping for something a little more accurate.

I know that album and its remixes to bits and I can’t find where they would have cleanly extracted the samples from.

I often have this sentiment about certain pieces, and this is certainly no exception.

We know, almost for a fact, that they either have access to the mulitracks or have painstakingly recreated every nuanced detail of the introductory rhythm and bass portion of Aquarius from Hair. This is because in the Warp10 live performance, individual sections of the percussion start long before the bass.

People who have earned the respect of other musicians to the level that BoC have will likely have a much easier time acquiring copies of multitracked source tapes, but I think I veer more towards recreation unless they have a futuristic audio isolation tool stolen from a crashed UFO wreckage out in the pentlands.

Is it not just this rearranged?

EDIT: From the comments it would appear the stems aren't that hard to get a hold of.

Don't think so.

The end of that BOC Edit mix definitely sounds what I imagined to be on Acid Memories, probably just because of the cover.

You most certainly aren't alone in that. I tear up every time I hear that or the original.

No, I’m thinking I should go back and add that into my mix. I wasn’t convinced enough that it was BoC but I’m becoming increasingly more sure that it probably is.

Instead of reading back, can I just ask where the highest quality recording of the full mix currently is for download?

I got mine from here: http://uk.thelion.me/nts/

Not sure if this is posted yet but the tune starting around the 42 minute mark on the mix tape sounds a lot like one of the loops they had on their old website.

Also, and this may sound far fetched, I hear similarities between 'We Have Come to Bless the House' from Severed Heads and Zoetrope.

Does anyone have the lyrics for the Victrola track (Maritime Tatami) ? I can't find it anywhere.

If you listen while muting the drums in your head I can hear a similar movement. Also the synthesized flute part at 00:52 sounds reminiscent of the kind of phrase that BOC are so amazing at playing and arranging in their songs.

Another thought: the bass guitar in Slave To The Rhythm and Hair both feel similar until they shift in different directions. That's part of why the Aquarius vocal samples work so well over Slave To The Rhythm. I didn't realize until listening to this section of the tape again that during the broadcast my ear filled in things that weren't there and I started to hear the Aquarius bass line, even though it's never brought into the mix.

P.S. I've been reflecting on the broadcast these past few days and it's surreal to think about how we were all tuned into a collective experience around BOC's music – just like we were six years ago for Tomorrow's Harvest. Alone with your headphones or stereo but also together. There's also something surreal about BOC releasing something outside the boundaries of a new album. It's fun to think about Societas X Tape as having the side-effect of preparing their listenership's subconscious for whatever's next.

Check the images for that release. I can post a higher quality pic when I get home.

Also, do yourself a favor and check out the B-Side. It is phenomenal.

FUN FACT! You can hear a tiny bit of Gescom's Stoop at the end of the EYDIAB loop. I guess this version was taken from Skam's Skampler comp, where both tracks are back-to-back. Stoop was a prominent BoC fake years ago, often advertised as Echo the Sun from Acid Memories.
