Wouldnt it be ironic if Boards of Canadas new record was stored in Warps storage and got burned up. That would possibly mean a greater delay. Damn british riots!

Well this confirms that it will definitley not come out until after october 10th. I was reading into as to why englad had these riots and apparently it is because of "hooliganism". lawl.

The BOC facebook page and twitter page just linked to the same article. I'm really hoping we shouldn't read more into it than that.

All of Warp's UK stock appears to have been lost in the fire. The Sony DADC warehouse also acted as our international distribution hub and so this has affected our ability to supply our overseas partners.

Forthcoming albums - CANT's 'Dreams Come True' (Sep 12th), Plaid's 'Scintilli' (Sept 26th) and Rustie's 'Glass Swords' (Oct 10th) - are currently being manufactured. We know PIAS are working hard to get alternative distribution in place and we are hopeful that the release dates of these albums will not be affected. Most UK copies of Battles' new single 'My Machines' have been destroyed, although the single will still be released digitally on Monday - with some limited 12inch stock available at Bleep

The biggest challenge for us is replacing Warp's extensive back catalogue spanning the last 21 years. We will replace as much of this as we can by creating new stock and replenishing where possible with stock from outside the UK. Unfortunately some releases may never be available physically again.

We will be closely supporting PIAS in their efforts to get the independent music community up and running as quickly as they can.

Are these FB and twitter pages official or made by someone else?

I know about the official warp link, but I did not think that BoC posted independently about the subject. That is a bad sign.

OK my question now is, do the sandison brothers themselves manage the BoC Facebook and Twitter page or is it done for them by some guy from warp?

As I understand it, the latter. We've been told in the past that they have little interest in FB/Twitter personally. Someone connected to either BOC and/or Warp (MDG himself?) is the likely editor I reckon.

Well there is still a chance then that this did not directly affect our beloved BoC and warp is just spamming out the info on all thier pages they moderate. (lets hope)

They don't handle them, no way in hell they do. People like MDG and other hexagon sun collective members probably handle them, as well as Warp themselves. But I know there wouldn't be anything posted without their permission. God damn it...what if the new album was stored there? Or what if it's just under pressing?

Just a hell of a lot of WHAT IF'S right now.

I'm pretty angry, not going to lie.

Wait, so you're telling me anytime warp wants to post something up on thier fb or twitter page they phone/Email BoC and ask if its ok to post it? I don't know about that. Especially because BoC must have replied rather quickly considering the time in between the post from warp and on thier site / twitter page - aren't they supposed too busy to respond that quickly? If they did respond that quickly then that goes to show how much they are deliberatly witholding, or lack of news for that matter. If they did agree to this post then that means it must have affected them which means they do have a new album and it has just got delayed. You're right too many what ifs.

The link on the BOC page was posted by WARP. I assume WARP posted the same link on every page managed by them. The WARP announcement listed the records that were damaged and BOC was not among them. There is no reason to believe a BOC record was delayed by this.

I would assume people might be interested in only BOC amongst the WARP artists, it's My case, I care absolutely not for anything else but BOC, as such if BOC is not affected it shouldn't be used to send out that notification, people that look at other artists like Plaid or whatever would receive the info through that fb page, not BOC's.

I guess it might be because lots of the back catalogue was there and lost in the fire, that's My working hypothesis... that or something was pressed and ready and got torched by fire.

"All of Warp's UK stock appears to have been lost in the fire." They then talked about the records soon to be released, but they never said anything about records beyond those dates because they probably assume they will have stock for those groups reprinted and don't feel the need for transparency on that issue.

This is big, bad news for WARP. It's obvious that they want to get the word out to as many people as they can by posting to it to every page they manage. Announcing the news on the BOC page is the correct PR move.

Alright, I've had it. I've been watching these punk ass kids rioting forever now, and they'v really gone, too far. We must put together a task force to go a eradicate all these scumbags for good. Keep your hands off of WARP. btw anyone see the actual aerial footage of the Sony warehouse burning? Sad day....
I'm a man that does not strive for a certain genre, in his music. Ugliness among beauty. Or is the other way, around? Maybe just all ugly.

This was my initial thought, but Yellow Records brought up that BoC approves what goes up on thier site, so then that is obviously not true and warp controls all the media concerning BoC (fb, twitter wise)?
