Holy shizznizz! That Sequoia sounds clear as blue sky. Lovely 8) Show me the rest of these "clean ones" please! In the description of the Sequoia Rodeh posted says " Music70. cancas001". Definitely neither one of the rips I got.

"Salopette" is the french for "overalls".
I wonder how close to BoC is the guy behind this Youtube account…

So, these are (after thourough inspection) the only other ones that sound significantly clean as though they might have been ripped from a non-cassette source, possibly a DAT or CD:

If you want though, I can upload my entire Old Tunes to dropbox and just post that, so you can see if the quality is any higher than what you currently have.

Also, here's the MP3 of that version of Julie and Candy for anyone who wants it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38909028/Boards ... emo%29.mp3

Quality is not amazing, but better than ATP or Lighthouse.

As pessimistic as I tend to be about the prospect of a new album, I put my iPod on shuffle yesterday morning for a song to start the year and it played me 'Gyroscope'. Who knows, maybe it's finally the year.

Or maybe your iPod likes number stations.

Nice one Cyril. I hadn't heard about half of those.

Honestly, I think the black box means exactly what it looks like: Nothing. The End. BoC probably closed up shop for good and this is their cryptic way of saying goodbye.

There's been so much stuff about "just wait" and new material that I really doubt they've retired.

Indeed! That is definitely NOT from the tape! Great quality!

You mean this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38909028/18%20Sequoia.mp3 ?

Also, I'm sensing a new BoC theme here. Snow.

They're on a Kate Bush vibe then?

Wouldn't that be a beautiful way to say goodbye?

In other news, if you're THE Helios, I love your stuff, man, cheers.

The brothers don't strike me as the kind of people just to stop making BoC music, it's their careers. You can't exactly imagine being in this band is stressful, no touring, minimal media and promo obligations. The only aspect which could be a reason for them to stop is being signed to Warp but i'm pretty sure they are happy to be on that label, they are music fans after all.

Yeah, I can see that, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turns out they've been releasing music under an alias, and BoC fans just haven't found out about it.

It seems like over the years, they've grown annoyed of their fans. I say that both because of the 6-year complete silence, as well as some stuff I've heard in interviews.
