Do you guys think the bro's are still making a living from their music? Or do you think their leading normal lives now working at department stores or whatnot? What are your guy's opinions?

Somehow, I just doubt it, no one works in a department store because they want to. Trust me, I've worked years in retail trying to pay for school.

Who knows, right? I guess if Mike and Marcus wanted the public to know what occupational endeavors they've undertaken (besides making amazing electronic music) they would of said something in an interview by now.

The way I have always looked at this hiatus was that there comes a time in every musicians career when it's just not the right time to make music, whether due to trying to start a family, lack of inspiration, or just the need to get away from it all for a while. Unfortunately so many good artists have been forced either by contract or corporate nagging to write and record new material during this phase. And we can all name 100 disaster releases that have come as a consequence. Whatever BOCs reason for the hiatus, I believe they know what they are doing. I do believe that if they were honestly done for good there would be some type of announcement from Warp or on their main website.

I pretty much never listen to BoC anymore but I listened to Left Side Drive and it instantly reminded me why I love this band so much. Best. Band. Ever.

If you, like me is starved of hearing some new stuff from BoC. Electronic techno artist The Field have made a new record under the alias "Loops Of Your Heart". Title of the last song: "At The Boards". Don't think I need to describe how it sounds ;)

Pmsl, heheh. I hope the Brothers BoC read that.

I doubt they work in department stores lol. But I get your drift, I know what you mean. I have a feeling they have shit-loads of money. From what sources? Who Knows. And it's not really our business anyway. They come from well travelled backgrounds, they are very articulte and seem well educated, they are masters of sound and art. There are dozens of possibiltites for how they manage to live but making music under the TM BoC isn't one of them, and working in a department store wouldn't be one of them either :D . That could seem like a bad thing as they don't pump out masses of music to make the spondoolies, but the flip side is quality control is 100%.

I think elements of the track Seven Forty Seven have been around for over a decade. You can hear bits of it in the samples from the old website and one of the tracks on Random 35 Tracks Tape. I think they contributed this track to the Warp compilation because they did not want to give them something really new.

And to be honest, I would be disappointed if their new material sounded like this track. Seven Forty Seven is alright, but it sounds like an imitation of Souvlaki Space Station to me; not terribly original or interesting.

i think it's more than just mashed together old samples, they've clearly added a lot to it to get the wall of sound effect, and i find that incredibly interesting. to each their own!

Yea 747 is the shit. Listening to it in a nice environment with decent speakers/earphones really trips you out.

Our fella mdg just debunked the speculation that the album is not coming out over at the WATMM BoC subforum: http://forum.watmm.com/topic/72170-blac ... ge__st__75 . Hope flickers on. Oh and..because mdg is so mysterious and only leaves faint hints and comments about the upcoming release and does not really reveal anything spectacular information..just could it be that mdg is BoC? :o ... :? ..... Or is it proven otherwise somewhere? I've only seen talks about "legit Hexagon Sun representative.." etc. Should I get my tinfoil cap?
