I first discovered Boards Of Canada, funnily enough, through the "Youtube Poop" scene (for those who don't know, those are weird edits and/or corruptions of various media - usually videos, but they can be audio as well) - don't ask (I'll give you a hint, though: "poik").
Listening to them in particular, among other Warp artists, was what got me back into properly creating electronic music, and their recent release has particularly revived my interest in analogue (or generally, perhaps intentionally, "old-timey") production, rather than the completely digital style in which I normally produce music - this, by the way, is a revived interest which I have plans to exercise.
More information on that front to come, but for now I say this: Hello, people of the Twoism forum, and the BOC fanbase (or perhaps, as I have observed, it is a LOT more than just a "fanbase"?) in general.
