I personally think it's touching that BOC fans associate the monolithe with them. Both for the supposed space themes but also their love of pagan imagery.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it on mainstream news because I couldn't stop thinking that it was a totally BOC move even if it wasn't them. It's nice that someone is up to some BOC-esque hooliganry and it interrupts the usual dire headlines.

You got a source for that satellite info?

Don’t think it’s BoC - but growing up reading Arthur C. Clarke - I think it’s a cool concept.

The monoliths are like a Rorschach test for mystery theories. Everyone sees what they want I’m them.

The BoC community is interesting.

On Reddit you have people still skeptical of the Instagram/Bandcamp accounts, despite confirmation from Warp and them being followed by PIC, Bleep, etc. but fully believing that BoC planted a monument in the remote Utah desert 4 years ago to announce an album coming out now.

Gotta admit, a monolith is way cooler than an IG account.

If I didn't live through the Catherine Fell/AMKS/Adult Swim/?????? nonsense this year, I'd be a lot more gullible haha

From what I've read about the brother's feelings on nature, they would never litter these shitty pieces of sheet metal and 2x4s in the beautiful desert landscape for people to come trample up to. It's aesthetically pretty WARP, but get a hold of yourselves.

I don't think anyone here truly thinks the monoliths are BoC, just people on the subreddit, but certainly agreed
no information at this moment in time

Warp are strangely silent on the release front. Normally, we'd have something on the horizon by now.

I think what would be amazing is, one day, simply a link and an image of their new album appears on the IG. That's it. No grand fanfare or anything. Just here's our new album. Enjoy.

That'd be great if it was a smaller project for the hardcore fans, but if we're talking about a mainline album then there are plenty of people in the music industry who will need to be made aware of it. BoC are one of Warps biggest artists, I can't imagine there not being a huge marketing campaign so that the whole music industry is made aware of it.

This photo they posted yesterday... it's clearly old, but do we know how old?

If it's pre-MHTRTC, it could be an indicator that they're gearing up to release their early works?

I'd be grateful for old material to be released, but I want to see where they are at now.

Gotta agree with this, even if it would be cool.

If you think about the time they put into the release of Tomorrows Harvest, I doubt they'd just drop an album sadly... But who knows, it is BoC

Surely you wouldn't be more inclined to believe them if the /u/ was something along the lines of "My dad works at BoC"

Well the Aphex reissue comes out in Japan today. Release gates are all clear now!

I could see a new BOC album being announced this month and it being released next month. Kind of like Squarepusher's amazing album, Be Up A Hello.

Speaking of which, I think that album wins the "Best Warp Album of 2020" for me, and is one of the best things he's ever done. BUAH is a total triumph for Tom Jenkinson. Unless BOC are going to derail it with their own awesome album, I can't see it not being my favorite Warp album this year.
