Almost done: http://soundcloud.com/staticckk/new-album-sound-sampler

When I release it, I think it'll probably just go about the wayside and nobody will really notice it. Unfortunate but that's what seems to happen to a lot of people who put their releases here.

Yeah, it sucks being a musician nowadays. The creator/perciever ratio in the world is way off balance.

Lovely sampler. Will be keeping an eye out for this.

I'm really liking the sampler Rodheh. Pretty stoked to hear it altogether. You should contemplate submitting your stuff to a netlabel and recommending your album when it drops to people who have similar tastes as you. Last.fm is a very good way to do this. Other forums, submit cassettes/cds to college radio stations...

Unfortunately the hard part of being a musician is getting your stuff out there. You've got to spend a lot of time networking, both online and in public and it's easy to spend too much time on redundant applications. I think a big trick to getting exposure is remixing artists who you respect/sound similar. Fans of that artist will discover you and so on. Just a few pointers...

Keep it up though!

You know, I don't like labels and was going to self-release, but since a lot of these small "netlabels" are actually more of just artist collectives and aren't created for monetary intentions, I had considered seeing about submitting to one.

BrandNewRetro has a message on his website saying "Feel free to get in touch with any original music, videos or other media arts you think we might like." and I debated sending a demo to the contact address with a whole "for your consideration" thingy, but I felt that my stuff is too different from the typically very melody, consonant artists that he publishes for and frankly, probably not as enjoyable to most listeners.

But it doesn't have to be from someone here though if that's the case. Maybe I'll check around the net some looking for someone who can help me promote it.

And if that never comes around, I'll probably just self release it on last.fm and soundcloud and whatnot.

Will see if this ever gets finished. Working on upper melodies atm. Just a little clip of the unpolished track http://soundcloud.com/saakki/minimal-as ... working-on .

I'll definitely have my eye out for this release as well. The sampler sounds nothing short of awesome! Keep us posted dude. And yeah, don't get too discouraged if not too many people reply. It happens to pretty much everyone here. But even if you reach only one person, it was worth it, right?

Made a track, gave it a lo-fi feel. You can use filters, EQ, downsamplers and all that nicely, but in the long run, one of the greatest ways to do it is to record the song to cassette tape and rip it back to digital: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38909028/6%20-% ... etaped.wav

Makes a nice, vintage sort of sound.
