Really lovely synth man...very airy quality to it. Overall, seems like you've laid down a great foundation. My ear did have trouble following the measures at first though...I'd recommend putting a nice solid snare (or some treble-y hit) on each upbeat, to keep it ticking steadily along.

Let me know when you come up with the final track...would love to hear it!

Thanks Evan, I was super excited about this track - just can't seem to get anything going with it yet.

I've been too wrapped up in other things to find that focus I once had, but something new has come to me, something I've been waiting for.

This means my approach is changing dramatically.. I've started a new 'project' if you want to even call it that, its simply what I am up to these days, and let me tell you - it feels amazing.

Feel free to check out one track I've finished, called Resinosa.

I've chosen the name Meadowhawk

Nice! I'll have a listen tonight and pass on my thoughts. :)

Just finished up a new track, so I'll post that as well.

Ah perfect, thanks! Definitely prefer this to Myspace's cruddy player.

This is a very beautiful, short tune. Music to sleep to...or you know, actually...this reminds me of that "planet" that appears at the end of the movie Contact...with the beautiful, surreal oceans and mind-bending sky. Could also sit very well as great background music during a planetarium presentation. :)

Do you mind me asking the reason for the alias, though? Seems like this could sit well enough with your material under the 88marquis alias.

Blue Verve Vein

My favorite tune I've done in a while. Had fun recording my gal's voice and chopping it up into different notes. :)

Beautiful Evan, as usual! The vocals remind me of Burn Sphagnum quite a bit - I love them. Your percussion where its at ( I must add that I just witnessed my brother dancing down the hallway to the track hahaha, he does not dance often.) What is the 'cranking' sound sampled from? It sounds like wood or aluminum to me, sounds great.

If i had replied a few days ago I would have told you that I was moving onto new things, but I now realize that it doesn't require a new name or release, it is going to be released with the EP as 88 Marquis; the final track in fact.

This album represents a point in my life when I became aware, and the path I took to reach this current state of mind. All is good, and a release comes soon!

Told you before, but Resinosa is a beautiful track 88marquis.

Here is the closer I've been working on from the cd of my upcoming moniker Midmir. The track is called "I Remember Her Handwriting": http://www.sendspace.com/file/cpkt1k

Glad you both enjoyed it. (: The clacking/cranking sound is from running a stick across a pan pipe at various intervals.

Amen on keeping the 88marquis label on this one...look forward to the release!

I'll take a listen to some of the other tracks here when I have the chance at home.

I have started my Ambient Music / photography project
..It involves colleting sound samples from places and people in my photographs.
I have a myspace site:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=492511919

Image
Also, an exlusive download for twoism of a track that goes along with this picture:
http://www.box.net/shared/092r35ck5b
It's essentially a stripped-down remix of the first track I ma
de. But it's dedicated to a person, and place.
The ambient sounds are all from the area the photo was taken.

Very lovely man. This sounds stunningly like SOTL, which is both a compliment and a critique. I've heard many try to emulate their sound without coming close...this could easily pass for one of their tunes.

The photo/field recording idea is one I've had too, but never attempted. So, kudos for giving it a go! Seems like a great project; not just for the music itself, but also for the experiential grounded-ness it might give you in the process. (:

SOTL? Stars of the Lid? I had never heard of them until now. I like it :P
Thanks a lot.. I am quite nervous about 'putting it out there', both as an art and music project, but having the opportunity to let it grow online, and getting feedback from a forum like twoism is really great... oh thank goodness for the internet.

You'd never heard of them? Alright then...I'm truly impressed.

With that in mind, go nab "And Their Refinement of the Decline" immediately. (:
