I listened to Tender Buttons on a bike ride today :)

Now I'm listening to Piano Magic-Wrong French. It's making me sleepy.

For such an often sinister- and dark-sounding album, it really fits well with a sunny day.

Love this so much. Repetition at it's hypnotically hilarious best.

I've managed to make it almost all the way through "Shame Fantasy II" by Pink & Brown. I'm rather proud of myself.
When we come home, we want it quiet and calm,
We want you to sing us a song.

From Synecdoche, New York; how it's used in the film is incredibly affecting.

^ I'd go as far as to say their best. I love Mogwai.

I was thinking what a great sunny day album it is, which is weird because I've always assosciated it with rainy cold nights because around the time it came out I saw them in Seattle during the winter and I just remember driving around in the fog and rain with it on.

Listening to slowdive-souvlaki now

I guess one thing that's so good about that album tonally is that I can totally see how it would fit in with rainy cold nights (and how it'd 'sound' completely different 'in my mind'). They're a great band to listen to to emphasise certain surrounding environments -- I once listened to the Focus Group collaboration in a university library while looking through falling-apart books and ancient journals for an assignment. Fit SO damn well.

Dunno if anyone has heard of Huron. He's an IDM producer from Germany I believe. Anyway, I been listening to his albums Fossilized and Colourdays. Top notch stuff!

The Haxan Cloak - Excavation

Just picked this up yesterday (HC has been on my "to buy" list for maybe a year now, shame on me) - Sort of "scary" / horror movie soundtracky. Very, very good. Looking forward to picking up the rest of his albums.

sometimes i need some norsk svart metall between all those beautiful synth tunes.
