Heavy Static - The Cool World

classified as 'hardwave', whatever that is. weird early-2000s sounding electronic rock something.

Never 'got' Suede, and equally alot of the shite that was Britpop hasn't dated especially well either. But I tell you what, Bernard Butler's finest hour had to be that debut McAlmont & Butler record.

Man alive it had some songs on it. Butler was on fire and David McAlmont's voice was so incredible it's not even funny. Frankly, they were showing off.

^ Yes is a phenomenal song, I absolutely love it.

Bernard Butler is one of my favourite guitarists - I was never a huge Suede fan either, but his playing on their 1st couple of albums is great. His solo on Metal Mickey was one of those moments that hooked me into indie music aged 12/13 - it sounded like one of the most exciting things I'd ever heard.

Ladytron - Flicking Your Switch

Feel like I should be in an eastern European underground railway station with a girl with a black bob and a 1950s 35mm camera.
