A fantastic standout from his usual ambient and downtempo house oriented music as this one primarily samples classical pieces. It's also one of the few albums of his that apparently warranted its own wikipedia article, so I guess it had to be great :) . Also, a beautiful choice for the album cover.

A little personal note: the final track starts with the same base sample from a track off of the Silent Hill: 0rigins OST so that took me by surprise

Loro by Pinback. Amazing song that I know by heart.

The other band's work is more of the same, but it doesn't get old.

A downtempo closer to an album with an ambient/breakbeat fusion style. Thank you "Boogiepop Phantom OST" for introducing me to some great artists :D

I can't tell you how many times i've played this album, pure psychedelic space-ambient music from 1979.

Fun fact:
Hillage and collaborator Miquette Giraudy were both credited on The Orb's 'Adventures beyond the ultraworld' album for allowing them to use samples of this on their debut.

Happy astral travelling y'all!

Digi Dub - At the Skrot (Screw Dance)
phpBB [media]

This track is from an album that has always been a bit of a mystery to me, as it has a very interesting history behind the recording process. Well, at least according to these re-copied liner notes on a YouTube upload.

Digi Dub - Scrap Bodies (liner notes)
"This album is composed entirely of sounds collected at the Skrotcentralen scrap yard, Uppsala, Sweden. These sounds were also used to compose a soundtrack for the "Scrap Bodies" Butoh performance by the Su-en Butoh Company. This dance was premiered in the scrapyard itself and has toured the world."

Not sure what to call it? experimental-industrial?

Anyhow, i love the metallic sounds this album produces!

Will have to further check that out, it reminds me of Aphex Twin's "At the heart of it all"; and yeah, industrial would be the ballpark genre for that.

Currently listening to Belgrado, who are like a fusion of early '80s Killing Joke, Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm", and Modern English's "Mesh and Lace" if I can make a comparison for recommendation purposes.

Sewerslvt - Existing Everywhere
phpBB [media]

rodox_head mentioned her too much not not for me to check out.

I'm breathtaken by the combination Jvne's long deep euphoric synth pads with some of the best mastered hard-hitting techno breakbeats ever heard.
So far I've listened to 'Drowning In The Sewer' 'Draining Love Story' and 'Skitzofrenia Simulation'

Many thanks. It's glorious! :D

Glad you liked them :D . "We had good times together, don't forget that" is a masterpiece and a bittersweet end to the Sewerslvt project.

I've just finished the final album. Wow. I liked how dense and abrasive it was at points, tracks like Borderline and Her.
I think my favourites from the album were probably Light at the end of the tunnel, Dissociating and the 17 minute opus of a D'n'B closer Goodbye.
Emotionally and musically It's a very raw masterpiece! :)

You think the forces have control
There are no forces
They have no control
Yes, it's just you and me
Fear anything that look's like the sun
And we're, by our own design helpless
This is the beginning.

"You're Not Here" from the SH3 soundtrack; very 2003 rock. I wish the album version had the fade out it does in the intro.
