Forgive me if there is a thread for this type of thing already.

I’m having a hell of a time remembering the title of film I saw. It was the late ‘90s or early-‘00s. It might have been something from a film fest even. It was a quirky indie comedy/drama. The main character was African-American and wore glasses. He and or the film might have been British?

Anyway, if you’ve any clue. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, that’s an issue. I think it was a fish out of water story? Lead actor was slightly awkward. His glasses were thick black frames.

Protagonist may have had a meet cute. Perhaps a road trip was involved. Poster or box had pink on it.

It might have been British or French.

I’m trying to remember if I saw it while working at Blockbuster (and so a feature film) or as part of film fest and maybe it was a short film (in which case it’s lost to the ether). I would know the actors face if I saw it. It was from the late 90s or early 00s.

Hah! That is so funny! I was JUST watching Garth Marenghi's Dark Place.

But that is a good guess. Are you thinking of The Watch?

I know that guy.

It definitely wasn’t a dream. Another distinct image I have is of the dude sitting either in the back seat Or front of a car sandwiched between two others. It was a comedy no doubt.

It was an indie film for sure. It’s killing me that I can’t picture a costar to look up as well.

This will be my “rosebud”
