would be interested in hearing some critiques on this song i just put out. probably has the most boc-ish potential(atleast in my mind) out of all my work, so let me know what you guys think.

Very, very happy with this one - probably my first fully realized piece. Certainly some 'Light Through The Veins' influence. Little bit of Bollywood thrown in. Check it out! :)

Also I finally realized how to simply hook up my monitors to my laptop and am looking forward to catching up with all the recent tracks you guys have upped in their full glory.

Nice! the beginning kinda reminds me of something Brian Eno-y. I love the harsh texture on the synth that comes in later.

Here's what I wrote tonight. I spent all day and all evening crying, then I made this:

Who cares if its 'demo' length, your music is great! Love how relaxed but completely engaging you get, especially the one you just added. I really enjoy listening to work like yours because my musical brain runs so opposite and that difference allows me to fully sink in and listen to what you've got going on.

Are these untitled tunes what you were referring to? They're fucking ace man. I especially like 'untitled', great little bit of initial misdirection on the beat that really draws me in. Great space in the mix and as always you're so tasteful with the glide sounds. Looking forward to where these are all going.

This track makes me think of being outside in the rain but with my glasses on, and I have to take them off because they're all fogged up and dripping and make my way through the space in front of me without visual definition. I really dig the way that you turn over the beat from around 2:42-3:12. If I had a minor quibble it would be that the sound the comes in at 2:09 seems way too dry and upfront to me in contrast to the rest of the mix.

That has quite a lot of potential, if you are wanting to increase the length of the track, I'd consider taking some time to build up to the main synth that kicks in at around 0:22.

I agree with this. I can even picture that being an secondary melody or one that runs underneath something more prominent.

This is what I've been working on. Probably a bit heavier than normal, still unmixed.

First off, I completely agree about the synth in Techboy's piece! Is almost sounds like there are differing degrees of distortion on each note of that melody, actually just that one note - is that on purpose? Did you double/layer/automate just that note?

Turquoise70 - really nice track :) Parts remind me a bit of Carbon Based Lifeforms in a great way, and I really like what you do with the arpeggiated runs.

I'll bite. This is the second time I've listened to this and I'm not really sure where you're going with it - seems like you're trying to bring together disparate elements but without gluing them together. Maybe its that the huge kick reverb is dominating the space for you - try killing that completely and see what pops into your head for a bassline and/or pad and ambient elements to go with that synth if that's what you're going for.

Welcome! Great track :) Love how it comes together once the beat kicks in.

Here's a little BOC-esque vignette I just wrote -

just gettin around to hearing what you guys have been puttin up, and honestly im impressed. i see loads of potential from this page alone! keep it up guys!

also brian, holy crap that was probably the simplest yet most 'oh yeah' advice i've ever gotten on my music! that probably sounds really dull but i haven't ever given it the thought. thanks man! and yea, the elements are quite disparate(like the rest of my songs imo), but i'm in lack of proper equipment and so most of my songs that i have are going to be skeletal in the meantime. *wishes for mpc and korg ms2000*

I enjoyed that. I love how the beat crept in - really trippy.

I've been working on a track for the last week or so. It's a bit disjointed at the moment and it's not quite finished but any constructive criticism or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Quite a few new names I see! This is fantastic, seeing all this new material. Listened to quite a few this afternoon but now its time to go find some eats. I'll be back later on and let you guys know what I think about some of these tracks.

Also, soundcloud seems to be pretty promising - giving that a shot. I've put up three tracks just to see how they sound, and I'm pretty impressed with the quality. Just wish I could get some names going for these tracks.

A little experiment. My French ex girlfriend reciting a poem by Baudelaire mixed with an excerpt of an older song by me. We intend to collaborate more often..
