To my surprise, after trying to torrent* a single album of Caustic Window, I actually had downloaded a massive Richard D. James Cornucopia of Greatness which consisted off, virtually everything available; everything I've already had +200 or more correctly labeled, organized .mp3's. I've been listening to some Aphex Twin I've never heard. And let me tell ya, Rediscovering Aphex Twin is a fun, interesting journey! [/color]
YES i wholeheartedly agree. while i was in scotland i had a big aphex twin resurgence. i've recently gotten into what might actually be his best two albums (highly debatable) SAW II and ...I Care Because You Do.
SAW II pretty much blows away lots of the drone/ambient/noise stuff i have been getting into recently. i cant believe how emotionally affecting and haunting it can be. its deceptively complex. and the amount of brilliant ideas at work here is staggering. he does stuff in ambient that ive still never heard. no wonder there is such a clamor for SAW III.
and i picked up i care at a record shop on vinyl and its really blowing me away. this, like the analords sound so much better in their original, analog form. i had this album on cd for years, but it never sounded quite right until now...
