I was having a conversation with Ulrich Schnauss in Dublin a while ago and he quite casually dropped this little nugget into the discourse; that Warp were putting the boys under pressure to tour the next album, whatever the release date. He wouldn't elaborate but you can only speculate as to their reaction. Would this have caused pause for thought, would fledgling tracks have to be rewritten, discarded with this in mind or more likely , would they take stock. sit back and review their relationship with their label. Just some food for thought in juxtaposition to the prevailing opinion that they're being mysterious for mysteriousness sake.

This post caught my eye. Not only is this a lot of made-up rubbish, but it doesn't even make any sense. And it's probably not a good idea to be putting words in the mouths of innocent artists, either.

First and foremost , this post was submitted in good faith; one of my intentions to provide a genuine piece of information as opposed to the vitriol and invective so common place on forums these days.
I met Ulrich on the 29th Oct '09 prior to and after one of his performances at the Sugar Club in Dublin, a more forthcoming and self deprecating artist you would be hard pressed to meet. The only provenance I could offer in support of the verity of this encounter would be the copy of 'Goodbye' he was kind enough to autograph with a personal message and some less than HD quality video of Mr Schnauss having a pre concert fag.
I had merely asked him if he would ever consider a collaboration of some kind with BOC and this elicited a response that he didn't think they would collaborate with anyone which led to the comment outlined above. This would now seem to be a lot of words to be putting into the "mouths of innocent artists."
It's very easy to deride a contribution that probably seems to have come out of left field, but to arbitrarily label it as nothing more than lies belittles both the poster and the forum.
It makes me wonder how many people like myself in possession of similar enlightening information hold fast in presenting it to forums for fear of ridicule and offensive rebuttals.
I'm also extremely content in the knowledge that I have no idea what 'trolling' is.

Well well... I don't trust people who post some friday messages when I, here, am posting after you on a thursday night :-)

EDIT: What seemed to be checked as a friday post, changed back to a normal thursday post. My joke is dead.

It is a 1st post indeed. I am here to figure out that I was NOT the ONLY ONE seeing the ALL NEW black square waiting to be filled. I wonder how it'll come since the CampFire was REALLY NOT my cup of tea. From the early beginning when I bought MHTRTC, I REALLY prefer The masterful IABPOITC. Those four songs, for me, are the absolute maturity of their work. I will not deny anything else but the last two 2005-6 Releases :-( but that's just me, checking from my window, the National Film Board Of Canada, the building where many sounds and general inspiration came from :-)

This bastard hasn't given us a reason NOT to trust him.

As said above: Pics or it didnt happen!

Trolls feast upon the corpses of innocent dwellers that share the same obsession. This guy is actually giving us a chance for some closure. Let's see what more he has to say before throwing him out the window and casting him into the pit.

Motherfucker, you guys need to stop using acronyms so much. Yeah, I know MHTRTC is Music Has The Right To Children and TCH is either Campfire or Trans Canada. But acronyms like YCFTS, IABPOITC, TDIITD, DCTM, etc. aren't as easy.

Of course, it's possible or even likely that Ulrich Schnauss was just speculating like the rest of us as to why BoC take as long as they do to make records. I don't think Ulrich has any particularly close ties to Warp, so there's a strong chance that if he had heard anything it would be third or fourth hand. By that point it's all Chinese whispers.

I dare say that Warp (and the rest of us) would love BoC to play some live dates, but that's not the same as putting pressure on them to do so.

I's once galavanting away from my trusty haberdashery
When, with a start, came the boys of BOC

Dressed in Burberry and garden thistle
Their shrill boasts shook the air like a whistle

Three albumen, from which comes one
PEONS! Hear our work when we
are
DONE!

With a leap to a thrush of sable
They vanished when approached their label

An old man on moose-back, with a warped face
He carried a microphone and a spiny mace

Those bastards again escape my lure
But hear me well, they shall yet tour!

I have more than one hundred posts so totally trust this.

I'd just like to say for the record that I take a large amount of responsibility for this. I'm the second (i think) highest postcount on this forum and I'm exactly what Chuck described, by my own admission  I'm sensitive, I'm boring. I do like giving and receiving backrubs, literal and figurative, and I do like reassuring and being reassured by people I like that things will be alright while I watch cartoons from the 80's. I'm probably the biggest reason anyone gets that impression from this forum.

I just wanna say that that's who I am and everyone here's cool with it, so please don't stereotype the others as being a bunch of cartoon-obsessed man-children - most people here are more mature than me, actually :) it's probably also why their postcounts are lower, I think... hahaha.

@Yellow

Nothing important. Just saying that I wait for the black square to be filled by the image of their latest release http://www.boardsofcanada.com/discography.html

Then I was telling you that all BOC's music was influenced by THIS, which was a musical and film precursor back in the 60's and 70's, and it's just outside my window, here, in Montreal.

That's all.

Oh yeah, If you guys aren't sure of all this, I give you one simple example of 1952 BOC's kind of film/music
http://www.nfb.ca/film/voisins-neighbours/

This is just an example.

I like Backrubs and 80's Cartoons as well. If that's boring then you must be thrill seeker Chuckie Boy. What would make this forum less boring? Maybe next time I'll make a post while base jumping off a cliff with my laptop. Extreme Posting.

Sorry back on topic, how about that Boards of Canada?

Is it crazy to think the boctransmission image is a new album cover?
