That is one of my favorite EP, 'cept for the last track that doesn't do anything. It gives a well rounded boc fix in a short amount of time.

Can't agree with you there. Trans Canada was just a few leftovers from Campfire Headphase that were released roughly six months later. Grade A leftovers to be sure, but it was barely even 12 minutes of new material. Just two tracks and two interludes. Calling it an EP is a stretch in my book - any shorter and it would have been a glorified Dayvan Cowboy 'single' release with B sides.

The tracks on Trans Canada Highway sound a lot different than those on The ampfire Headphase.

Hey, it's just my theory, according to how their themes morph through their releases.

:x

Odd Nosdams mix is one of my favorite tracks for sure. I think I prefer it to the original. But that may be because I was tripping my nuts off listening to the remix for hours and now im in love with it :D

I clicked on the black square 666 times.Nothing happened
A clearance in a wooded area, you startle a deer, it runs into the pines. Vast turquoise lakes and icy rivers, crisp mountain air. A bald eagle soars above. The distant sound of a chainsaw. Redwood smoke

Every night, before I go to bed, I find myself staring at the black box. Its been happening for about a month now. I kinda zone out and all of the sudden I realize Ive been staring at it for 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I dont even remember going to the website. I fantasize about what its going in its place. I always hope that this is the last night I have to look at the box, and that in the morning I wake up, and its the best day of my life because there's the new album :D

I don't agree. One of the Sandisons became a father during the last few years. It must be something incredible, something really powerful, and I'm sure it'll influence their music. Maybe some tracks will be as dark as the ones on Geogaddi, but globally I'm waiting for brighter, more optimistic sounds.

i think this album will be very much like Geogaddi in that it will be darker, but I think the difference is how they are viewing their approach...back then you had 9/11, they said they were glued to the tv, and it influenced the album, and now they have the Japan Tsunami/Earthquakes happening, which is similar in terms of world event catastrophies

my basic assumption Geogaddi is to 9/11 as the new album is to Earthquake catastrophies

not to affend anyone affected by either disaster, but i think it's very assumable they will be fitting the recent Japan news into the picture of their new release

I think you're right, but unfortunately that can be very reason why the new album will appear later than we all hope. My speculation is that they have had entire new album ready at the beginning of the year and the theme should have been apocalyptic, end of the world, or something similar. The placeholder was put in place and then tsunami and Fukushima nuclear plant disaster happened. This, i guess, caused them to go rework some of the songs or even adjust the whole concept. Hence "in the studio" status on their myspace profile...

Don't you find it extremely odd that they have already put the placeholder on their website discography and then suddenly they're back "in the studio"? I mean, yes, it could be some finishing touches, but I think we all know that Sandison brothers are notorious perfectionists, and in their terms finishing something is more likely to be matter of months than days.

If there is no news on May 1 my guess is nothing happens before autumn.
Of course, I hope I'm wrong, and the new album is announced this week while the brothers are working on boxset of old unreleased tracks we're all waiting for...

I hope it isn't as dark as geogaddi personally, I hope for something like MHTRTC, with a relaxed, occasionally melancholic vibe to it. Although to be fair, I'm not really fussed, I just want any new material.
