It's been 9 weeks (63 days) since the enigmatic box appeared at www.boardsofcanada.com and still no news. I'm getting bored, and losing interest.

In previous instances when they put up a square on the site, how long was the wait before an announcement?

I only found out about the box yesterday, so I'm completely stoked, but 9 weeks would be killer, I suppose.

Anyway there's close to no doubt something's gonna be released, so yeah~ :D

I was having a conversation with Ulrich Schnauss in Dublin a while ago and he quite casually dropped this little nugget into the discourse; that Warp were putting the boys under pressure to tour the next album, whatever the release date. He wouldn't elaborate but you can only speculate as to their reaction. Would this have caused pause for thought, would fledgling tracks have to be rewritten, discarded with this in mind or more likely , would they take stock. sit back and review their relationship with their label. Just some food for thought in juxtaposition to the prevailing opinion that they're being mysterious for mysteriousness sake.

Not only is this a lot of made-up rubbish, but it doesn't even make any sense.

+1

Exactly what was going through my head.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't try to resurrect anything.

Same here.

I also find myself staring at my watch waiting for it to sync up with Gyroscope sometimes.

Gave up caring about the black box long ago now. What is it, 10weeks or something since it showed up?

Just feels like it could be there for a year, who knows. It's BoC.

I am starting to think that they are just now putting the record together... and not even close to putting it out. Did anyone ever think that between Trans Canada Highway and Now, that they have been on a break? Maybe they just now started working on the new album... Could be another year from now.

They can't just be starting it if MDG said it'd be out last year, can they? :? I'm sure it's ready but they've just been busy with families or doing other things at Hexagon Sun with their mates. "Life happens to musicians too." :)

I have a feeling it's done and Warp are sitting on it to meet some release schedule they've planned to distribute their big releases throughout the year and make as much money out of doing that as possible. Didn't they nearly go bust at one point?
