Nah. Warp will keep quiet and pretend they're still going to keep us all on the mailing list while they flog overly-priced Brian Eno limited edition box-sets.

Hang on a minute......

(BTW this juvenile wimpering from a 40+ yr old is nailed on to work)

All I can say is that it was never traditional for an audience to be privy to the machinations of an artist, filmmaker, musician, or author until the internet (and specifically blog websites) were invented.

By the time Peter Jackson releases his new movies, some of his audience will have already seen much of the film on his Facebook blog and other websites.
Do any of you guys remember the days when something wonderful just appeared out of the blue, without having had it all explained away and spoiled in advance?

I agree that not knowing something in advance can be one of the joys of life.Unexpected surprises are great when they happen. The only problem is that the black box has nullified this argument (maybe why you removed the post mdg?). And I realise that it is facile to start pouring over snippets of info, but the reason why people do this is because the anticpation of something good is a big part of the expereince. And for my part I've had a shit year and half with a death in the family, others with ill health, big workload and study on top has fucked my head up. I visit about five websites religiously (this one most of all) and am old enough to remember the simplicity and mystery of life pre-internet that is being erroded for kids nowadays. I guess what I'm saying is i can wait without too much grumbling, just another hint of something coming would be nice is all

I'm not believing any updates unless it comes from something legit, like Warp or the BoC website. All of the "updates" have been very cautious and don't put any responsibility on BoC to deliver. And for all we know, BoC might not even know about the black box or "In the studio" update.

Maybe we're all jinxing this every time we speak of it. Everytime someone mentions BoC, a two year album wait restarts.

It's like calling Gabe Newell fat.

haha..that's what i was thinking. Maybe they do actually read all this stuff. And everytime they see more speculation or ideas someone puts forward about a possible new direction they panic, scrap everything and start from scratch. Again.

Mike and Marcus......sneaking up to the computer...
'You do it..'
'No you do it!'
'YOU do it...'
Mike gently and carefully lifts the proverbial Twoism lid.....

'Are they still there???'
'SSSHHHHHHH!!! Just wait a minute will you?'
'Sorry'
Mike lifts lid again.

'Can't see anyone.'
'Really?'
'Hmmmm. I don't like it. It's TOO quiet.'

TWOISM: Hey! THERE THEY ARE!!! WHEN'S THE ALBUM C....'
SLAM!!!!!

'Phew! That was a close one!!'
'Yeah!! What shall we do now??'

'Fancy a pint and another 5 years off?'
'Yeah go on then...'

I got a chuckle out of that.

Might be a cliche question, but anyone knows who the girl is on the Old Tunes and Hi Scores EP cover? I've always thought she kinda looks like Mila Kunis.

i would hardly say that the addition of the black box nullified that argument. that wasn't "hey here's a bunch of little tidbits of information about the new album so it's actual magic and romance can be ruined by the time you get to it".
it was just
"look, a singular sign of progress. nothing more, nothing less."

i could hardly say we've ruined what the new album is (well, with this thread and all.. maybe..) as we know nothing about it (unless the black box turns out to be the album cover. then we know the album cover).

argument still stands.

EDIT: and sorry if i pointed out something small that you didn't even really feel strongly about, it just bothered me enough to make a post.

Made a comment about how back in days of yore artists didnt communicate with their audience and that was a good thing, then realised the irony of breaking a few months of silence just to say that and deleted it.

Maybe the Sandisons are planning a comeback of the third guy ('Christ.') and they are arguing over whatever reason 'Christ.' left in the first place.

By the way, I love Christ..
What do you guys think of his music? Well I guess you just HAVE TO like it, because there are too many BoC elements in it. Obviously.
