I've said it before and I'll say it again: Christ.'s music is boring as shit. I can see why they kicked his ass out. Much better for it as well.

I think Twoism is their best EP. And it wouldn't have been so awesome without his influence. So a little respect please.

Agreed! I still don't know why they took his name off. Unless he requested his name to be taken off. I wonder if he wrote or helped write other songs/eps.

Made a comment about how back in days of yore artists didnt communicate with their audience and that was a good thing, then realised the irony of breaking a few months of silence just to say that and deleted it.

xD lol.

Twoism is amazing.

I hear mostly BoC in it, but I'm totally for welcoming a contributor. Not sure of the specifics why he left, but it's irrelevant.

Gotta be my second favorite, collectively, after Geogaddi.

The only problem is that the black box has nullified this argument (maybe why you removed the post mdg?).

i would hardly say that the addition of the black box nullified that argument. that wasn't "hey here's a bunch of little tidbits of information about the new album so it's actual magic and romance can be ruined by the time you get to it".
it was just
"look, a singular sign of progress. nothing more, nothing less."

i could hardly say we've ruined what the new album is (well, with this thread and all.. maybe..) as we know nothing about it (unless the black box turns out to be the album cover. then we know the album cover).
argument still stands.

EDIT: and sorry if i pointed out something small that you didn't even really feel strongly about, it just bothered me enough to make a post.

I take your point yes as the box was not a spoiler to a surprise per se, but if you think about it, in BoC terms it constituted big news in the 5yr desert of no-news. But we are getting into semantics now. And whos fault is that? Not yours or mine Waterbagel ;)

Twoism is an album, not EP and in my opinion their best album or at least as good as mhtrtc.

So much Twoism love here! Great, it certainly is one of my favourites too. Toss up between that and Trans Canada highway I think.

And I don't think Twoism is counted as an album by the band nor Warp. If you look at their LPs, they are loooong pieces of music. Although Twoism might be 8 or so tracks in length, it can't really be counted as an album in comparison... I guess this is personal opinion more than anything.

You mean LP, right? Any collection of more than one song is technically an "album".

Well generally LP and album are used synonomously, but to be precise LP would be more accurate. Generally a collection of songs is considered an album if it exceeds 25-30 minutes in lenght.

Many of their early albums very very short in lenght, Twoism wasn't an exception. And it's actually 9 tracks btw ;)

I would call it an album too but it is listed as an EP and not an LP.

If we're talking all albums, then it goes:

Music Has The Right To Children
The Campfire Headphase
Geogaddi
Hi Scores
Trans Canada Highway
Peel Session
Aquarius
Twoism
In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country

In that order. Don't care much for Twoism. I mean, I like everything on here, but Twoism isn't as good as BoC gets, that's for sure. I've always found IABPOITC to be kind of overrated. I like the Aquarius EP version of Chinook more than anything off of Twoism or IABPOITC, too. That's one bitchin' track. Way better than the lame Boc Maxima version.

Yeah, felt the same here. Not all EP's are over 25 minutes in length, but a few are. It also depends on how you classify an EP. Seems like most people consider an EP less than 30 minutes and less than 8 tracks. Seems fair to me.

To be honest I don't think the number of tracks doesn't and shouldn't have anything to do with wether a piece is LP or EP, only the lenght.

Then again something like All Delighted People from Sufjan Stevens is like 50 minutes long and it's still classified as an EP, I can't explain that...

Listed where? It was originally released as an album and discogs lists it as an album.

If I'd list my favorites it'd probably be something like this: Twoism = MHTRTC > IABPOITC ep = Geogaddi > The Campfire Headphase > Trans-Canada Highway > Hi-Scores = Peel Session > Aquarius 7" > Boc Maxima "Old tunes"

I really love all of it though, except Boc Maxima (aka poor man's mhtrtc) and the Aquarius single and most of the old tunes stuff.

I feel the same way. I can listen to the entire MHTRTC anytime, but I pick and choose the rest.
I rarely play Twoism, im not sure why.

I have to be in the mood for Twoism. It's less easy-listening than other Boards.
