That's exactly why I find it so weird. I don't think Scaruffi would lie and/or start making things up. I actually believe there are some people outside the borthers' friends and family who have have heard the early material.
For sure. I mean, not just "some", considering we've heard Old Tunes and that's just because of the internet.
Think about before the internet's sharing abilities were substantial. I'm almost absolutely positive that there were probably duplicates made by owners of the various tapes, given/loaned to other people for listening and possibly reviewing. Hell, there's probably like 14 of them still laying around in a drawer in somebody's closet somewhere in Edinburgh.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

considering how we got old tunes (that betrayed girlfriend story) and the fact that random tape was given to chris cunningham if i remember correctly and that's why it leaked - i really doubt these releases are really that much 'out there'. knwoing boc, they probably borrowed a tank from aphex twin and used it to force people to give back all the tapes JUST IN CASE.

I remember reading how Chris Cunningham was given a whole tape of unheard BoC tunes to use as he wanted for his ads, but that's the first time I've heard about them leaking. I'm not sure if that's true, tbh.

I never heard of the "Chris Cunningham tape" being leaked either. Sounds bogus.

it's 'Random 35 Tracks Tape' i'm talking about. anyway, i can't find where i read it, so maybe it was just speculation based on the fact that he used parts of the tape in one of his commercials.

It had to have been speculation as I remember reading in an interview the brothers joking, saying that he'd be in deep trouble if he leaked the music they gave him. I can't remember exactly what they said, but it was to that effect.

I thought it was a compact disc. That I vaguely recall. I sincerely doubt Cunningham would have been given any of the "OLD TUNES" on a cassette tape for commercial work, because they are mostly crap. Likely it was a boot of Geogaddi out-takes, as this incredible story broke around that time. I also remember Cunningham was enthused to have received "new" tracks, written in that interview.

Where is all the noise about the 'unreleased' Geogaddi recordings. All this finger-flapping about pre-Hi-Scores tracks makes me want to puke.

I remember that. I think they said that they'd break his legs if he did....haha. They were probably half jesting
Cunningham seems a professional and nice bloke in interviews. I doubt he'd leak any tapes. It was probably some scallywag with tose tapes. I can't imagine who'd do such a thing against their wishes. Bad manners if you ask me.
