I listened to dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd for the first time today, it was quite the adventure.
When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare in the sun

Jackson C Frank - fucking incredible, undersung folk genius.

Don't Look Back is one of the most beautiful acoustic songs i've ever heard.
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

I think Biosphere is in my top 3 favourite bands.

It goes:
1. Boards of Canada
2. Biosphere
3. Pink Floyd

She has to be amongst my favorite singers, she has an incredibly warm voice, for the record this isn't metal at all :) for anyone interested here's a sample clip

Do you have a thing for French music?

Being French helps a lot in that department seeing as I'm Québécois :)

Ah, I see :).

I love French music, mainly female vocalists, myself even though I don't understand a word of it. Artists like Gainsbourg/Birkin, Zouzou, Catherine Ribeiro (check this one out! nice avant-garde stuff with seventies synths), Anne Sylvestre, Poppys, Anna Karina, France Gall and so on. Also, if you're a fan of breathy french vocals as well, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sHxY_5VCNg .

That was intriguing, thanks for pointing it out, not sure that musically I can be drawn to it, but it was a great listen, the voice she has indeed is quite interesting. :)
