Fuckin notifications usually get sent to the inbox. It looks like d3v3l has 39 regular notifications. I could be wrong though.

Uhm what exactly is April's Fool about my status update? It's 100% correct (and posted on Saturday btw, not Sunday).

Anyways BoC did add all their albums to their FB timeline.

It looked like an official announcement stating there will be an album in 2012. How can you be so certain this will happen? Maybe I missed something. I guess what pitchfork said really did not mean anything? I could be wrong so please fill me in on your reasons because this is news to me that there will be a 2012 entry (which according to you is 100% correct!). Plus it was close enough to the date, even some other people commented about it being a possible fool's joke.

His FB post said "Gearing up for the 2012 entry?" Note the question mark. That makes that sentence a question, not a statement. As in, the rhetorical "(Are they) Gearing up for the 2012 entry (perhaps)?". A statement of fact would have a full stop or a comma - that sentence reads more like speculation. As it was a question and not a statement, it's not an April fool. You can ASK anything you want to. Either way there's nothing in those few words to suggest he is "so certain".

Reread what he wrote again. He is saying that his post on Facebook is 100% correct, not that he is 100% sure there will be a 2012 entry.

I Reread what he wrote per your suggestion. I beg to differ on the meaing of the question "Gearing up for the 2012 entry?" To me this sounds like "Are you Gearing up for the 2012 entry?" If he included "Are they" before the rest of his question it would not have been as misleading.

I never stated his question was in fact a statement, I said "it looked like an official announcement stating there will be album in 2012". Just because something is in the form of a question does not mean it cannot be a statement by the way.

He is 100 percent correct on the fact they added albums to the timeline, as for the misleading question he put up on the other hand is debateable.

there's also the phrase "tongue-in-cheek"
or, possibly even "sarcasm".. just not as cynical

e.g.

this argument about what fredd-e posted and its self-assertion of validity is totally valid and it should definitely be taken literally, verbatim, without considering the tongue-in-cheekness of it

d3v3l - Is English your first language? If it is, I can't possibly understand how you could have taken what Fredd-E said as a genuine statement of fact. Completely confused here!

Yes, it is my frist and only language. I am sorry if I have not explained myself well enough for you to understand how I found his question misleading as a statement that an album will be released this year. If my previous posts cannot explain it well enough for you then oh well : /

If you looked through the comments of the FB post I am not the only one who at first thought this.

Travis Jacobs: "gearing up for april fool's is more like it"

Jeff Mitchell: "It's an April fools joke, let's not kid ourselves."

woah hold the phone for a sec. On boards' facebook page, their timeline states that they formed back in 1983. This is the first official confirmation of this, correct? previously they had insisted that they weren't boc until the 90's, which made the existance (or at least the cover art for) their old albums questionable.

In interviews they have mentioned that they began making music even earlier than that but nothing which could be considered BoC music. This is probs just a general marker for when they started becoming a creative band in the sense they are today.
