UPDATE: Getting a lot of hits on this page. This theory has unfortunately been debunked two posts down.

Something of interest:

Don't get your hopes up. Don't shoot the messenger.

Someone just left a comment on my blog entry that the release date is 12/21/2012. I sent them an email, so I'll follow up if this seems to be any sort of valid lead.

Right now, I'm calling shenanigans. That's the rumored "mayan calendar date end" release date that's been circulating for a while.

we can speculate the release date until the actual end of the world comes, it wont do much good.

with that said. i wouldnt be surprised if the black box is updated on the first day of summer, which is june 20-21st.

That would be pretty awesome. Why do you think that?

i am pretty sure someone mentioned that boc made some type of update on the winter solstice. so i am guessing they may follow suit and release the album on the summer solstice. it seems fitting since they seem to dabble in astrology and numerology and that sort of thing.

Over here in the UK - British summer time began on March 25th

You got a WEEK?!? We had a weekend.

Still, did the British thing. ie. drank in the sunshine and got burnt. It's my birthright.

Speaking of solstices, I noticed that the live soundboard audio version of Julie and Candy was posted on youtube on December 22, 2009. That was the biggest hint to me that this was uploaded by the band, though the username of the uploader (AtalantaFugiens) was also significant considering that book's relation to Geogaddi.

Maybe a December 22nd release date isn't too far off? To be fair, I feel this would be a bit predictable, so I'm not holding out or anything.

I do think chances are favorable that it will drop by the end of the year though.

I'm hopeful for a september release, mainly because there's quite a few good september releases coming from some of my favorite bands (queens of the stone age, Tool, Animal Collective... etc.)

In the meantime, remember kids, don't eat weird fruit.

A peculiarly British skill. We can burn in approximately half an hour of weak sunshine. Probably related to vampires.

Apologies for the claim of a whole week of summer. I was clearly wearing the rose-tinted specs and getting nostalgic for those heady days (all two of them) of a couple of months ago.

I predict the new BoC album will be thematically based upon a nostalgic view of the weekend summer of 2012.

It'll be an EP. That tracklisting in full;

1 - Opening The Sunroof
2 - Whitelegs
3 - Hey Saturday Sun (30 second remix)
4 - Sixtyninedegrees
5 - Ready Lets Go Indoors
I'll see you when the sun sets east, don't forget me.

The new album is taking so long because the brothers' studio is solar powered. Turns out it's not tape machine artifacts making the tuning drift on some tracks, that's just clouds drifting by. :)

J just saw the new Gondry today "The we and the I", and 3 tracks of Boc are in, I was so suprised, and yeah I got a boner, they were "Satellite anthem Icarus", "Over the horizon radar" and "Ready lets go".

First movie where I heard Boc in.

I can just dream of Gondry directing a videoclip for the next Boc...
