Maybe the black box could be changed at any time but there's something from the fanbase that is required for this to happen.

Just some speculation...after all, that's what this thread is supposed to be.

Perhaps we have to get six medallions from six sages????
You're gonna carry that weight.

Possibly, although I was thinking more along the lines of four removed faces from four possessed monsters.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

after I saw this, I realized some things are well worth the wait. the brothers are setting the bar ever higher, and that takes time. they're gettin it done right.

You mean like this? I don't think so. (Not placing blame or being rude. I just thought the whole exchange in general was unnecessary).

But you are placing blame, and being kind of confrontational by even bringing it up.

He's only trying to figure something out, like the rest of us who visit this thread.

the last boards of canada officially released song was named 747. they put up a black box on the website. maybe we should be searching airliners for our answers.

even though im just joking around, their is def. a common theme of flying with a lot of boards of canada's music.

That's it - the album was finished earlier this year and the first pressing has been attached to / inside some airbourne object or craft, waiting to be discovered by someone - only then will it be officially released... Where to look first?

A 747; a Corsair or Chinook; a drone; a bird (an eagle?); a balloon; a satellite - take your pick...

As if there haven't been enough cringe-inducing fanboy moments since Geogaddi was released? Let's not try to not to encourage it.

You know... I feel that most such ideas/exchanges are really tongue-in-cheek and should be treated as such. That's how I see them anyhow....

For anyone that doesn't get it, DISCLAIMER: Any crazy sh1t I may on issues such as this is obviously tongue-in-cheek.

That said, the aggression of some fans in demanding new BoC content really does grind on me... >_<

I can't even fathom the time and effort the brothers appear to be putting into this next album, of course if there is still one in the works.

I was wondering if MDG could rise from the depths to elaborate on what happened to a 2010 release? I'm sure someone's said something but I'm just curious.

Because based on this
http://bocpages.org/wiki/Statements_from_Hexagon_Sun#December_2009 it seems like there's been problems with releasing an album which makes me worried.

There was never supposed to be an "exchange". I left a message that I knew had a less than microscopic chance of being answered in hopes they might say something and a friend of mine on facebook decided to be an asshole about it for no reason whatsoever.

Thank you.

And to be perfectly honest I had to greatly restrain myself from flat out saying "Fuck you." in that facebook thread. I really, really dislike being rude to people when I can avoid it. I think everybody should try and get along.

But this simple facebook post got misconstrued into some sort of argument with me at the blame end, which is frankly a load of fucking bullshit. It's not like I came out and said "RELEASE YOUR DAMN ALBUM", it's not like I said "BOARDS YOU'RE SO PRETENTIOUS WITH YOUR SECRETIVE NONSENSE" and it's not like I said "I DEMAND SOME NEWS NOW". I just said what they've legitimately been doing and asked if it were possible to get just a little bit of actual news of any kind. Something that'd inform us a little bit if we really do have something to look forward to or not. That's all.

I don't see why that generates such a volatile reaction, unless a fan feels the proposition of information from another fan is somehow making the whole fanbase look bad, which would honestly be a borderline insane assumption.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

This forum used to be fun
A clearance in a wooded area, you startle a deer, it runs into the pines. Vast turquoise lakes and icy rivers, crisp mountain air. A bald eagle soars above. The distant sound of a chainsaw. Redwood smoke

You can't just close the spec thread, it's the epitomise's the essence of going off topic in ways only Boards of Canada can do.
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…
