I want to hear Seven Forty Seven on stadium-sized speakers. Of all the boc songs, I feel that one begs to be played the loudest. Like as loud as an actual 747 loud.

And I'm still cool to wait patiently for this next album. Magic isn't made overnight, or even over several years in this case. Perhaps the band has delved deeper into a particular mental rabbit-hole than ever before and the quality of the work will reflect the time and dedication well-spent.

I seriously can't wait just to see the cover, and I'm really curious as to what the themes will be this time around.

And most importantly, I'm totally prepared to make up my own mind about it by tuning out the endless internet trolls that so rule online conversations these days.

I'd totally be in favor of someone doing this.

But I think BoC should first release a 7.1 version of the song or something. This is a track that deserves to have all its detailed expressed through more than just two channels, IMO.

Nope. And apparently FlyLo's new album has recently been announced to be released 2nd of October. Announcement 2.5 months in advance almost.

I'd say based upon that we shouldn't expect BoC to be released before the new FlyLo. So that basically implies it might be released starting from medio october till december with a possible announcement in the next 3 months, if Warp keeps up with the very early announcements. If 2012 will be the year, obviously. My 70 cents.

How convinced are you that 2012 is the year, Fredd-e?

Every day a little bit less convinced, but still moderately positive. Argh. :)

Sometimes BoC's refusal to engage with the Internet is downright frustrating. It has gone beyond making them mysterious to making them invisible. They fall off the radar to the point where nobody but the most devoted of fans (us basically) really cares anymore.

I don't need or want them to be tweeting or blogging, but I so wish they would use something like Soundcloud. Just something to tease us with some signs of life.

I sometimes wonder if they still enjoy what they do. Is it work? Is it a hobby? Is the process as life-affirming as we all, perhaps naively, imagine it must be?

Don't go there. I said the same things a month or so ago and apparently a fair amount of people have a huge problem with recommending BoC tell us anything.

i think that the (oft-recurring, not-just-you) issue that some people have lies with *expecting* or *directing* them to tell us something, or actually being mad that they are so quiet. simply wishing it would happen seems pretty polite

also I think that we are a subset of hardcore BoC fans, but I bet there are plenty (just as dedicated as any of us) who haven't found this site yet. bet it's rougher for them. here at least we have a place to whine about it.

I don't know how many of us are into MST3K, but if you watch episode Phase IV from the original series, there is a line: "Do they cry compound tears from compound eyes?" I just thought it was perfect.

Wow, I haven't watched this since it was on Comedy Central. So many awesome things on youtube these days. I was watching a Julie and Candy video which took animation from this crazy cartoon called Fantastic Planet. Apparently the whole film is on youtube as well, and it is pretty fantastic.

When it comes to patient waiting and quality of the result, I suspect the pouring of the world's largest Guinness has absolutely nothing on this album... Unless you hate BOC, which I don't. Or love Guinness, which I also don't.

I'm down with the radio silence. I would like infinite new boc tunes like everyone else, but I think it's awesome that they keep to themselves. More power to them, really.

I'm the same way in regards to my own life. I'll even sometimes offend people because of my intense desire to be alone and work on what I want to work on, whether it's music or philosophy or whatever. I truly don't mean to offend others like this, but ultimately they should just respect my space and the fact that I have a legitimate need for privacy that is much greater than the average bear's. It's just how it is. I actually start to go crazy if I don't spend enough time tending to my mind in this manner.

My personal theory in regards to what they've been up to in the last six years is that they took roughly two years off and have been up to their usual routine ever since. If this is the case, then an album isn't too far off, maybe a year at the most. I still think they won't be able to resist releasing an album in 2012.

Of course hopes always have a possibility of being dashed, and there might be other more serious factors at play such as one of the brothers is fighting an illness or something along those lines. And so I'm open to the fact that a new album may never come or maybe only after another long while.

Either way, this is still the best band I've ever had the fortune of hearing, and I'm eternally grateful for the relatively few releases we have.
