Definitely a 'Brass Eye' episode reference there!

Haha, totally Chris Morris.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

I reckon the lads will 'drop' when the wicker man burns. Come on folks, lets get some bodies up to Scotland, otherwise were buggered. (Although, time will tell I guess).

I love BOC, but let's be honest, they're not 'that' good! "Pah".

Up until this point, I think I've been rather objective and strong on the standpoint of just leaving the subject of a new Boards of Canada album alone and reporting interesting tidbits of news as it happens on my blog. But, for the last couple of days, I've been craving a little inkling of something.

I mean..absolutely no rush, but deep down, I hope it comes soon. :(

To the Sandisons: if you've read this far into the topic...hello. I hope your day is going well!

Hahaha I missed that Boc Paedo thing, but this made me laugh out loud behind my computer.

We can only pray to God that young Pete was returned safely to his parents and not cut
into pieces and buried out behind the big barn.

I don't find TCH to be that half-assed. It had a lot more of a live instrument feel to it, and it was definitely more "one-note", as far as moods go, but you know, a MHTRTC-type release would really shake things up, in a good way. Actually, something entirely new and shocking to what people expect would be better. I fully believe that BoC could single-handedly change the music industry. I mean, we're going towards a situation much like the early nineties and the seventies where legitimately good music is going to rule the airwaves. I mean, pop has always been bad, but these days, NO ONE can deny it. I can't think of one good pop artist or mainstream artist that's legitimately good, beyond a few that really aren't that mainstream. What Animal Collective? Radiohead? BoC could change a lot of the music industry with the right timing. Anyone have thoughts on that? Free music movement has a lot to do with it, too, I imagine.
I'm a man that does not strive for a certain genre, in his music. Ugliness among beauty. Or is the other way, around? Maybe just all ugly.

Maybe cos I only heard it the first time last month but I hope its an album of this delicious warpy, soupy, sunset-flavoured gorgeousness like 747.

I definitely agree with you Off Janeva. I always thought it was really awesome that boc could have made an album after MHTRTC that was legit but accessible in the way Daft Punk's Discovery was, yet they chose not to. Instead they chose to keep their stuff at least somewhat underground by continuing the heavy psychedelic influences and releasing Geogaddi which was fantastic anti-pop.

I think the new album is meaning to be huge, but I'm not totally sure if that's the angle it will take. They wouldn't be boc if they didn't keep us guessing though, so who knows. I infinitely look forward to it no matter what, and I hope the release is a big deal amongst more than just us diehard fans.

The My Bloody Valentine forum is basically a mirror of this forum in some cases, it's cool to see so many faithful fans waiting for that morsel of information on any developments.

Kevin Shields doesn't adopt this radio silence BoC do, but the wait for a follow up to Loveless has been WAY longer in the making than a Boards album.

Im hearing through the grape vine on that site, that a record is imminent though.

Imagine it now, an MBV album and BoC release within a year of one another. 8)

Hey guys--

I've learnt that Mike & Marcus hang out on Quakenet IRC, with usernames karmd & xcij.

It's true.
