Okay some of you need to give yourselves a timeout from posting if you can't contribute without taking things personally. When you recognize yourself about to respond in anger go take a walk instead and be an adult about it.

Some of us think Santa is real, others have been around long enough to think we might know better, but at the end of the day we all still want a present or we wouldn't be here. So get along or get out.

Sorry you mistook mdg's personal message to me as sarcasm.

With respect to Kamas' post- this just needs to be said:

Why are you being a dickhead? I know, this is the internet but seriously? Is there really something so fucking wrong with me supplying information? Does it offend you that much?

I mean it's a matter of intelligence, and you really set yourself up as an ignorant fuck. Because you've implied that a new boc release is a bad thing, and since that's your opinion you eliminate any possible reason to be in this thread whatsoever.

Damn... I kind of feel sorry for how stupid you make yourself look, lol. And go ahead and retort because your ego's hurt. Please follow the predictable pattern and complete the desert dry.

As Kamas said. You sir have made yourself another prime example of the overstated pessimism of this thread which in the end means nothing because there will be a new release regardless and you'll come to find you've wasted yours and everyone else's time insulting people and being useless. Bravo.

Hey, it seems I've really offended you, and that was not at all my intent, so I apologize. My only point was that anyone can make a post with information like that, so it would be nice to have something a little more tangible. But I was not being serious at all and was not trying to attack you or anyone else on the thread. I barely read anything before your post and was really just joking. Again though, sorry for making it seem like I was trying to insult you.

Looking forward to the next BoC release just as much as you are.

My apologies. I tend to go off on a rant and I don't really mean what I said at this point.. sorry man lol. And I was being wayyyy too defensive either way.

This is true and yes, I apologize. This thread shouldn't be taken too seriously period so that was my bad.

This is the vibe I got from Noum's first post. Not sure why everyone took it so seriously.

Thanks for posting the screencap TTT. Good to know we've not been waiting pointlessly.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

Thanks for the screencap TTT, and I'm glad to see things have settled somewhat.

Back when Iron Mike was literally the most ferocious, terrifying boxer ever.

Thats also a caption you have to read out to appreciate :)

Glad there is definitely some BoC in the works.

The more we try to force change and the more we are aware of our forcing it, the less likely it is to (genuinely) happen.

Much like telling two young siblings to stop fighting and love each other. Love between people like that has to happen over time to become genuine.

It is legit, yes. And not particulary new information either. It has long been said multiple times that a new album is inbound. It's not a question of IF but WHEN.

Yes. This has been happening for years but still I think that the immediacy of mdg's response and the fact that he even responded at all indicates something good.

Most of all it indicates him being a nice person willing to help out whenever he sees fit and is able/allowed to do so. We just should not expect him to give the full details, yet. That will definitely be reserved to the Warp records website, like they do with all their forthcoming records. (e.g. Flying Lotus)

Warp simply will not allow the beans (read: specific details) to be spilled on this forum first. They will want to have the exclusive right to market the new BoC album as they see fit.

But this will not rule out MDG will eventually provide us something definitive, like for example: "watch out the Warp facebook page on *specific date* for BoC news". That, for instance, would proof his ligitimacy to all the doubters out there.

Just my .70 cents.

If only you could classify MDG as an unreliable person that is. And if indeed, by so-called accident, he predicts the actual release date you'd blame it on pure luck? It's a chance of 1 out of 366. Meh... stubbornness would definitely reach new depths in that case.

You certainly remember this quote, I'd hope -

mdg wrote:the new album has been held up over the past year by one or two issues outwith the band's control, but it is finally coming out in 2010.

After 5 years of this stuff, he's like a zombie Paul Revere riding through town every few months proclaiming that the British are coming. And every time all the town people get out their munitions, and build up the defenses, only to turn in for yet another uneventful winter.

Perhaps he does have some information. I've continued to find it distasteful of how much of a one-note trumpet this has become, without acknowledgement that he's been leading people on for years. Maybe this is personal bias, but I'd have much more faith and respect in an individual who can own up to being wrong in the specifics of their proclamations.

More importantly after five years I do think it's unfair and a disservice to any newer members of the forum to act as if posts or PMs from mdg are any cause to get excited. History has proven otherwise time, and time, and time again.

Of course I remember that statement which he made. I've exchanged messages with him by mail about it in the past. Sometimes you just don't have everything in hand. You do recognise that from your own life, don't you? At least I do.

I think I have truly moved on from caring, but BoC are playing a dangerous game. There will come a time when no one gives a shit anymore, and when they finally do release something, it may get ignored altogether. Of course all of us want new (or old!) BoC, but they aren't Led Zepplin or The Beatles in terms of popularity ( poor comparison, I know).

But we live in an age where everything is disposable. The fact that BoC have managed to keep people interested this long is both a surprise and a testament to the quality of their music.

I'm still going to take the pessimistic view that there isn't anything more coming. That way, if something does come, my head will explode with excitement.

I disagree Hexagon Son, you only had to look at all the music websites for a reaction after they merely replied "yes" to a question on their Facebook. Pitchfork recieved hundreds of comments alone on their FB page when they released an excited, albeit premature article about the bands minimal confirmation.

My Bloody Valentine have had fans on the edge of their seats for years with the promise of a new album, and still now people genuinely care so much about the prospect of new material. Bands do go off people's radar but those will always return. Music loyalty is a strong force.

If anyone should be concerned about the silence it's Warp, but they seem to be pretty content with this slow burning excitement and wild goose chase tactics the bands fanbase seem to relish. After all, they are certainly one of the most important bands on their label, and rarely release anything substantial about the band so they must believe that the bands vision and direction is worth sitting tight on.

I don't see why it's not cause to get excited. I asked if there was new music soon and he said definitely. There's absolutely no reason for a representative of a band like BoC to flat out lie. And it's downright false that mdg's been doing this for five years- at tops it's only been three lol. And Fredd-E is right, just because of mdg's 2010 comment that does not mean any news or comments from him are useless. Also I've been reading this forum carefully for quite some time so the fact that I'm "newer" establishes nothing.

I understand your apprehension about supposing new material and I feel a similar way but I also think that a comment from mdg suggesting new material is good to re-establish faith in this thread where it's kind of dissolving.
