It could be something entirely different, who knows?

I'd still buy it even if they play death metal.

i think the new material will be entirely different. the brothers are 40 now, i am sure they have grown past the whole psychedelic thing. don't get me wrong, their music will still have a trippy vibe, i just doubt they will center an album around it.

i picture this album using a wider range of instruments, i doubt its going to be all analogue. but who knows.

i think the best part, is that i really don't know what to expect, yet i have confidence that its going to sound amazing

Yes I agree, they are older and I feel like there's a point when one matures from the whole psychedelic thing. I think it'll probably be a departure from that but at the same time all of their material has had that slight tinge to it, which I think will always be there.

I hope there's a lot more instruments involved as well- I'm anticipating a really sophisticated and complex kinda thing- I hope that's not asking for too much lol.

I think the new CD will be a 66 min and 06 second expansion of Magic Window.

I personally dislike that title and think it sounds like a 'generic alternative band' record. But at this point, I'll buy a BoC album called 'Album 123', just so long as it contains material I haven't heard. :P

I've had several dreams that a new Boc album is days away recently.

This is definitely a sign that I've been visiting this site too much. :D

Dreams? We're clutching at straws here really... why do I even bother checking back?

It must be hard to go through this world so jaded and rigid.

Deep breath.

Lovely forum. I just think it's a shame that folks get so negative.

6 years with 3 albums, 5 EP's, various remixes and even unreleased rarities which we believe the band didn't even want us to have. When you think about it that is alot of material for a band that is notoriously quiet.

It'll come soon enough, in the mean time we still have all this awesome music to listen to. It never gets old.

Plenty to be happy about :)

Yes why do you? Your head is clearly so far up your own ass you can't even read a post for what it is. If you'd read my post properly you'd have eventually worked out that my point was that I've had dreams about it, not because I believe in some wishy washy precognitive ability I've suddenly developed, but that I've clearly been visiting the forums so much and thinking about BoC so much that I've even had dreams about a new album.

It's not as funny when you have to explain it, I thought the emoticon might have been a good indicator that I wasn't being serious.

I strongly suggest you just get a life.

Seriously?

How about the fact that BoC already have a ton of great music out, and you're alive and in beautiful world and have the privilege and incredible fortune to be alive at the exact same time and on the same planet as BoC.

my wishlist for the imminent (!) new material:
-official release of AFOT 1 + 2, hopefully in a nice box set with original cover art. I would love to hear acid memories or play by numbers also, these look so good but i'm resigned to the fact these may never come out
-officially releasing some of the incredible live tracks such as echus, "noatak", "love is in me" (one... two... three... and four-oh! :D love that bit ) and spiro
-the promised hexagon sun collective film project???
-and a new album in the vein of a post apocalyptic barren wilderness - with a more stripped down style without all the layered samples, such as mhtrtc

anyway this is my 'wish list' i would be so happy if it came true but it needs time , i can never get bored of boc

They say low expectations are the key to happiness.

I used to think that meant some sort of compromise, but now I think that people's expectations tend to be unreasonably high and account for alot of misery.

I rarely even listen to BoC anymore. I'm willing to just accept that it was a musical period in my life, and in my 34 years of living, they were arguably the best band I had ever heard. So long, and thanks for all the fish, Mike and Marc.

We've come full circle and I'll say it again- people can have their doubts and opinions on the state of BoC's music and lack of a new album but honestly their is no utility in treating other people like shit because they believe otherwise. It's kind of sad really.
