I really love how each of the sounds are just a little bit different than the one that came before it.. Different static sounds or interference. Almost as if we were actually tuning in to the station itself, waiting to hear the chime of the BoC Transmission about to list off our next set of orders.. ;)

Then I'll find the album's out of print.

Forever.

Those additional colors you filled it makes it look plausible.

But did you notice how the spacing and even the voice length of each number is absolutely identical between all numbers and all clues? There's been careful crafting for all that.

The preparation for clues is always a tense time.

That's another thing that makes it so fantastic! As if the chime and numbers are programmed into a speech/morse generator to be sent out to the listener! We hear the transmission coming from the machine, intertwined with the sound of static and mixing frequencies in the background as if we were picking up the transmissions on an actual shortwave radio, day after day. :)

The idea of the perfect piss is this amorphous thing that I'm always aiming at. For me, it can mean something that's full of imperfection, because part of my aim has always been to destroy the toilet bowl in a beautiful way. It doesn't mean that I expect everyone would like it. I'm not sure that I will ever get there, to take the perfect slash. But the whole point of taking wazzes is at least to aim at your own idea of perfection.

they were definitely broadcast via ham or shortwave or even portable fm tuner in some manner and then re-recorded. being into shortwave for a decade and understanding some fidelity issues attributed to broadcasting leads me to this.

You think? Cool. I was wondering that too.

Is it true that interference is quite common on SW, so some of the other artefacts could be genuine stuff from the ether?

I wonder if tonight will be the grand finale since there's only one clue left and it's a Friday so people will have time for it.

I sort of have it in the back of my head that the NPR "clue" might actually be the cipher. Maybe there will be 2 more clues? Interesting times ahead. I have a feeling that this thing will get wrapped up by the end of the weekend, one way or another so Pitchfork and company can have it out there on Monday morning for all the regular folks to see.

totally, interference is everywhere in radio signals. when you think of whats going on via physics, its kind of remarkable it works as well as it does. 3 meter waves from 8000 miles away, bouncing off of the atmosphere!? huh?! yet it works. its amazing stuff. i highly recommend getting a little radio or two and listening late at night. can be spooky. a small artifact i recorded months ago to illustrate what kind of interference, static, and tuning in between frequencies can sound like: http://soundcloud.com/geometrie/inabewyreyesberchaswunk
