Mogwai - Death Rays

Even more convinced that "Hardcore will never die: but you will" is their best album.

Also: wine.

Well this isn't embarrassing in the slightest. Twoism, I have a confession.
I just listened to the new EP by....... Charlotte Church

She's been in The Quietus and everything.

^ no shame in that at all; I think she's great. Haven't heard the EP yet, but she was on Sunday Brunch (I know, I know) this morning playing live (or "live") and the single sounded great - bit of Bjork, maybe a bit of Cocteau Twins, a bit of about 10 other things.

She's in an enviable position for any artist: able to do what she wants (ie £££ probably isn't an issue) - at least she's making the most of that and clearly doesn't give a monkeys about anyone's idea of what she should be doing. Hats off, I say.

Let's get her a login here.

Definitely some Bjork-lite and quite alot of Jeff Buckley, bizarrely. Reading that she checked out Mark Lanegan live too so she's doing something right. Interesting although I'll need to hear more before I can be entirely comfortable I think

I get the Jeff Buckley comparison, definitely. She's having a crack at doing things her way - fair play; I'm sure she could have easily chosen a more lucrative path.

NP - Patti Smith; Gloria. I feel like leaning against a wall and smoking and sneering.
