Mate I did not realise how much of a mental old right winger Bardot was. She's said some pretty wack shit in her later years.

Anyway, late summer sunshine is calling for some Beach Boys..

and some Strawberry Alarm Clock though my favourite tune by them isn't on Youtube, check out Small Package if you can. What a neat little psychedelic pop groover

Love the Caretaker, have you read about his vision for the music?

This kept coming up in my Facebook feed, so I thought I'd have a listen.

Kenny Feinstein's cover of 'What You Want' -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sfGEXhvY-8
__

Thing that always gets me is that covers of songs from Loveless are way more significant to my ears that any other cover version. I think it's cause they really show out-and-out how, despite the clearly poured-over and considered sonic elements of the album, one really special aspect of Loveless is simple fact that the songwriting's just so GOOD. There are really just good-quality 'pop' songs there, but at the same time, there's something just sublimely weird about them, too, that nonetheless still feels really sincere and honest.

As Winter approaches, it might be a good time to give Loveless a listen or two.

The Caretaker (aka James Kirby) is fantastic. Lovely bloke too by the way if you have a chat with him via FB.
