It's my first project like this and I dunno how I'll go but hey, into the abyss, mirite?

I'm also making music based off of the script, not the finished product. I'm essentially working with the writer/director in tandem as he's finishing scenes.

That sounds sweet man!

Got a new toy last month (Korg EA-1) and have been having a lot of fun messing around with it; this is actually the first track I've made with it, though.

Loving the squelchy acid house type lead you got going on.

That's a real trip fella. The off-beat plays a crucial role. Real good number!

Thanks man. Trying to get some more up-tempo stuff together for the live shows. As nice and all as the downtempo stuff is for the beard strokers, it's extra nice to have a few heads nodding too.

Thanks a bunch man. That head is where the ideas originate. I am merely the physical medium through which those ideas are channelled.

Thanks guys! Means a lot. Every time I think i'm going to stop making music, something pulls me back in. Then I'm so thankful I did (and have tons of enjoyment making it).

Told my GF I would get rid of my little producing corner when she moves in for more space-- SHIT.

Hey,

i got a new track "What He Sowed" online. It's filled with self-recorded samples, some BOC-ish textures and disembogues in a noisey shoegaze-post-rock ending.
Listen with headphones!

Found myself nodding heavily to this, and I love that pause in the center. Are you using a 4 track? I know it's something you could do digitally, but the way you're shifting the speed/pitch reminds me of the old physical pitch-shift knob on some of the old tape recorders. Awesome stuff!

Really enjoyed this one. I'm a sucker for those funky bass lines haha. I don't know if I'm as into the synth that chimes in at 45 sec. but I'm also biased towards the simplicity of everything up until that point. Absolutely loved every other sound though, including the ones buried a bit deep into the mix. Very unexpected ending!

I saw a job advertisement for soundtracking a student film, and was in touch with the filmmakers for a few days with samples and stuff. Unfortunately (for me), one of the other applicants better fitted what they were going for (I was in their top 3, though, which was good to hear).

Here's my favourite (I think) of the three short pieces I'd made, that I thought I'd share now.

The whole experience was a pretty big help creatively, I think. I really hope there's more that comes of this whole situation. :D

I think I saw it come up in another thread, but have you heard of the game proteus? Your track has that similar kind of aleatoric quality to it, where it feels like I'm walking through a mixture of little tinkering objects. You should check it out if you haven't already.

Hey Perch,

thank you for listening! I'm glad to hear some opinions from people who are more into that kind of music.
I definitely must reassess the beginning.

i've veered away from my older haze-soaked style and into some cleaner territory. This new one is Plaid-influenced (and Perch approved!):

I really liked it, do I hear a bit of a Tool influence or have I just been listening to them too much myself recently? I personally really loved the synth bit Perch is talking about! There seems to be a bit of everything in here, whilst still being pretty coherent.

Hey Mark(i think it's your real name),

you have a point there. I actually come from the post-rock/post-metal corner but listen to BOC and stuff since i was 16. If you like progressive-post-rock check out flaresmusic.bandcamp.com. It's one of my main-projects and on 23 of may we'll release our first longplayer on vinyl, CD and tape called "Solar Empire". Lots of influences too.

Was planning on finishing a new EP, but the whole thing's sort of dead now my computer fucked up with a "Bad Pool Caller" error, deleting all my software and all the project files with it, meaning 50% of the tracks are gone, and the rest are unfinished demos :(
However, I'm also working on an ambient folk project which should be done by August.
I also finished an album last month, there's a link to it in my sig.

y'know what's worse than guys who post their music and don't contribute anything to the community

People like that who post good music, because then you're like "maaan, this is some good shit, why do you have to be a dick about it."
