I may tweak it a bit here and there. I'd like some feedback and ideas on how to make this track better. The help is much appreciated. :)

Warning: This track is pretty dark. lol

sounds like you and the new amon tobin are on the same wavelength :D

I love this sort of stuff, however I do think that with this sort of dark, slow moving ambience, length is your friend. The more drawn out the piece is, the stronger it is. Unless youre just experimentin'. Just my opinion though

I liked that, 747.

I agree that with Paracupzingo that there should have been a bigger release,

disagree with Perch that it should have been longer. It was perfect in its length, each part was a great little motif which blended into the next one.

Thanks for the reply Nick, Perch and Hendrik. I'm currently adding something a little more to it. I'm also currently quite sick, so be patient with me please. The idea that I have for the song will make it a bit longer, but not too much. Basically I'm adding a part with a beat, so that the build up is not lost on nothing. And ya, this is very much on the experimental side of my work.
Thanks again, friends.

747 - That was cool. I agree with what others have said, it didn't seem to go anywhere. It sounded more like an "in-between" track, a bridge between 2 other tracks or something. Having said that, the sounds themselves were lovely. Nice choir sound, and I particularly liked that dissonant melody that came in.

Lightsoutnepal - Lovely! It reminded me of 90's computer games. It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Thanks Mexi!

and thanks Forton. You may be interested to know that that's not a choir patch, it's actually a flute that's been sent through a reverb enough to sound like a choir.

Torn n Frayed - that track was better than your other stuff, mostly because I feel it actually had something happening in it.
I'm a big fan of sound experiments, so the way you had the vocal samples weaving in and out and glitching out was quite interesting.
And that disorientating synth in the background really helped build a mood of growing tension, which was also aided by the vocal chops becoming more chaotic and weird, and the bursts of distortion were really nice too.

This was a great track, more like it, please.

Thanks, I have a few more like it using most of the same sounds. The Octatrack is intense once you sort out the work flow and learn how to set up scenes and use the cross fader to interpolate multiple efx settings.

Some compression and filters were added in Logic X.

@Elexen: I dug that. The chord progression sounds very familiar. Not sure what it reminds me of. I love the arpeggio that comes in, & the percussion is great.

@747: Oooh, that's very very eerie. As with a lot of your stuff it's very cinematic sounding. Would work well in a horror.

@ Techboy: Love that. Very boccy all round. What analog synth is it? Very strong percussion.

Have it on now. Enjoying it. Some nice acidy stabs + synthy glitchy goodness.

Thanks. I sorted out that all 3 link up if you use the preset patterns they come with, so the first half is me just changing the patches before tweeking the settings since there is no memory on them to save patterns.

Ok, so here's the track I submitted for One On Twoism Volume 6, but I guess it didn't fit.

It's a year since I submitted it, & I haven't really listened to it since then. Just did a quick/ rough master to share with you guys.

Techboy - I like the droney background, and the washed out distorted percussion.
The melodies are nice and slow building, too. Only complaint may have been I don't feel it went anywhere, but it seems like a demo anyway, so I'll pass on that one.

Torn n Frayed - Is this all your own stuff? or other artists, a lot of this is quite nice and noisy. Either way I enjoyed listening to it. Thought it'd be daunting for 30 minutes, but it flew by, didn't even notice the changes in tracks that much, just felt like an ever changing piece rather than an actual mix.

GH - the track isn't bad, but it's far from your best work.
The droney intro was real nice, makes me feel like I'm peering into some dark abyss which I could fall into.

But the melodies take me right out of that, really doesn't fit for me.
The percussion could also have hit a bit harder as well.

Thanks for listening guys. I made the track private, & can't edit the post above, so here's the link:
