Torn n Frayed - Is this all your own stuff? or other artists, a lot of this is quite nice and noisy. Either way I enjoyed listening to it. Thought it'd be daunting for 30 minutes, but it flew by, didn't even notice the changes in tracks that much, just felt like an ever changing piece rather than an actual mix.

It was made using these 3 different machines called Pocket Operators by Teenage Engineering and Cheap Monday. Each one has different sounds, Rytm, Bass and a Factory that is synth lead lines; I learned that the preset patterns they come with all synch up like separate parts of a song, so I recorded them into Logic and did a mix of them, so long answer is no, not my own stuff. You can add internal efx and change them up but once you do you loose how the pattern was originally. Next up, sampling them into the Octatrack!

Underneath the Ocean is a Cave. is a new ambient thing I released recently.

MixtapeMix is a remix of two songs layed over each other then played really, REALLY loudly. I'll probably upload the original one day.

Today's 80 BPM mix; all using the same patterns just at a slower tempo. There are settings for 80/120/140 Bpm or Hip Hop, Disco and Techno. This one features some parameter locking starting around the 12 minute mark.

A little different, but this is the first song recorded, mixed and mastered for a band. It's a good mix, and the band themselves are fantastic. Czech it out!

I think SoundCloud may have slightly distorted my mix a bit, because it sounds a bit more solid when I play it back in my iTunes. Does anyone else experience this with SoundCloud? Anyway, I dig the vibe I got on this one. Let me know what you think.

Like that a lot. Reminds me a little of the early Washed Out stuff. In a good way. :)

SammyP - First one; I loved how it gained tension as it went on. It was this dark twisted journey.
Only issue may be it was too long, I could have seen it being cut in half and still being effective.
Second one: I loved the disorientating loop of it, and then it went to this dark place at the end which was really exciting.
It was totally unpredictable and unexpected, great work on that.
You're shaping up to be one of the better musicians on the board simply because you take risks and create music which sounds like nothing I've heard before.
Your music has no boundaries in terms of sound and experimentation, and I applaud that.

Betterthanyourkids - Not bad, but I wasn't a fan of the fuzzed out mix of the track, and the explosion in the middle wasn't enough to make the track worth it.
And as someone who's still a guitar amateur, I can play that pretty easily, so maybe a bit of progression past that simple chord structure would be nice? I don't know. It doesn't sound like my cup of tea either way. a little too drowsy for me.

Elexen - Intro was nice, but then it kicked into that great drum groove. That thing has some real kick to it, really nice. And the guitars in the background were great.
I liked that just as I was thinking "This could use a lead melody or something" one popped in, but I don't know if it was enough to really grab me, maybe a little simple and overly repetitive.
Overall the track sustained my attention, but nothing stuck out as all that good. I'll give it to you that the track sounds really good, and with some great song writing and a flair for more catchy or funky melodies, this could be killer.
It doesn't even feel like it could be hypnotic because it changes up too often to really feel like that, it just has a bunch of parts which come together and I'm like "Yeah this is great", but once its over I barely remember what happened.
Nothing sticks for me. At least except that great drum break.

lyst - not bad, but it felt like a pop song without the sticky hook. The airy atmosphere wasn't enough to sustain it for the whole track, and by the last third the whole track just felt redundant. It wasn't like your average pop song where the chorus was this release which you anticipate, there was nothing sticky about the vocals, in fact I didn't want to hear them again, and when they were I was like "why" but then it ended.
It sounds really nice, mixing and production wise, and the overall feel was pleasant, but didn't knock me down or anything.

Thank you! Haven't heard that comparison yet.

Thanks for the listening and the feedback, and the nice comments about the mixing and production status. I can see where you are coming with the redundancy issue. Would have to disagree about the vocals. I think that's objective though, I love them and how they fit in the song and how they give it some organic life, being all recorded by me.

Interesting you called it Pop. That's the last thing I want my music to sound like, but I can see with the light and joyous tones of the track how you could equate it to that.

well the repetitiveness, the simple chords and melodies, and yeah, the brightness and the tone of it make me think of pop music.

Despite the fact that I've heard plenty of pop which is pretty dark.
I don't know, make your own judgement. :p

Its nice to see a lot of creative souls all in one place. I've been playing the guitar for about eight years now but I am running out of alternate tunings to play around with. Are there any other musicians on twoism that stray away from the electronic side of music making? (Despite a lot of good coming from electronic obviously)

the major reason I haven't made anything new lately is because I've been slowly learning guitar.

I want to record, and write an album based around me playing guitar. I don't want to make like The Campfire Headphase, though. I want to create something a little more accessible, with vocals.
Might be funky, might be ambient, will probably be more electronic than I anticipate, but that's alright.

Yeah pretty sure there are several guitarists in here. Myself, IanRedpoint, Bleak when he's about. Others too I'm sure.

Well it doesn't have vocals, but this is the ultimate ambient guitar album imho: https://geotic.bandcamp.com/album/morni ... e-eon-isle

Honestly everyone should hear it. It was posted here a while back and I fell in love.

yeah Hendrik that sounds like me having a jam session

and Geotic is Baths' side project, right? I may check it out.

for solo guitar records, check out William Tyler's Impossible Truth, came out a few years ago and really bowled me over. Not ambient, but still quite beautiful. The tone the dude has on his guitar is impeccable.

I play guitar as well. I've actually been a singer/songwriter since around 1994... all different shit.... before I started making beats. Here's a couple songs I did a couple years ago that I just released. Maybe you'll dig it.... maybe not :)

those singer songwriter tracks aren't awful...

Just that the sound was so generic, I was bored.
Lyrics really didn't click with me either, I was rolling my eyes most of the time.

And I guess the emo/grunge sound isn't my cup of tea, either.
