Only if RTW is in the playlist, because that joint is sick! I think it's the closest boards have ever come to hip hop. Say what you want, but that whole album was something fresh and new when it dropped. Nobody was worried about what you call worst songs, we were all fn blown away!

I'm about to get real controversial, and reverse this thread on some folks. Post your tracks, and let's have Mike and Marcus comment on them. Trust me, they will tear some of your asses to shreds and it won't feel good.

My main point is try to imagine what Mike and Marcus might feel like reading some of this BS. As a fanbase, I think it's time, some folks check themselves and think before commenting. Raise the bar! This is twoism. It's a boc fansite. This isn't soundcloud. They do not need or want their work picked apart. They don't give a flying fuck what you think, or maybe they do. Has anyone paid any attention to certain things they have said in interviews and why they keep distance? It's not my job to be twoism police, but shit, I think it's time for change. Be humble, be grateful, show gratitude, show respect, show love, be positive, encourage & promote peace. There is enough negativity out there folks, keep it out of here.

This thread can die now!

^^^That's a controversial statement to everyone's controversial opinion, because like I said before, not feeling the vibes of this thread. Shut this shit down guys! It's enough!

I know what you mean. The synth tones, and melodies are stunning. That smooth pink floyd style bass. Heaven! The track wouldn't have flowed properly if they kept building on it. It's total magic!

While we are discussing MHTRTC, I just want to add that Happy Cycling at 5:06. Loss for words.

Well, it impresses me...

My controversial opinion is: The only BOC track I absolutely dislike (detest) is R35TT - A09.

as an audiophile and a student of audio production, maybe this is more controversial for me personally, but i think that BOC sounds ten million times better on crappy/lo-fi equipment than it does on crisp/hi-hi stuff. it's great to hear it in all its glory, but there's something incredibly powerful about hearing it coming from a dusty, broken-down tape deck on a worn-down cassette.

this may also be why Boc Maxima is my favorite of their albums. everything sounds more gritty and unpolished and warped in the most perfect way (though maybe that's just the rip i've got)

And here I was thinking this is a place for free and open discussion.

You are right they likely don't care about this thread so what's the problem?

I think you might be taking this a lot worse than they are, so why not avoid it? This thread isn't particularly negative overall anyway tbh

I agree with that opinion. It's their most evolved music that isn't available on a modern format, and you can see why things like the MHTRTC and Geogaddi cassettes are so coveted (in theory at least, it's not like anyone is playing them if they have them) Great music on its ideal format.

It's too bad they didn't do a limited cassette release for TH or something...that album definitely encompasses the sound of the era where the cassette format was at its peak too.

I would LOVE to have TH on cassette. Of all of their albums, I think it sounds the most cassette-ish, for lack of a better word. Like if their other albums are vinyls, TH sounds a little more modern so it should be on cassette.
Red -
Orange - Aquarius
Yellow - Alpha and Omega
Green -
Blue -
Purple - Music is Math

luckily one of my vehicles has a tape player, and forced my hand to dub th on tape (have 1980's panasonic tape deck) and i willfully report its just as tapey as you can imagine. man shitty edits on a cassette might be the best audio thing about tape.

Yea, you are probably right. I have a big heart, that's all. When I read certain comments about their music, it makes my blood boil.

With that said, I don't understand why some folks think Geogaddi is scary. That album makes me fly!

Geogaddi is the best thing if you want an uncertain mood, a strange feeling
All which makes me anxious
At times unbearably so

(...) They're so fabulous due to the mystery they've created by showing us all only half of their ass, I bet that they love to be desired, tease all of us with all those thousands of never-to-be realased songs, sitting in the studio all the time (but unfortunately creating music for TV), because they may be afraid, they may be afraid that they will lose this control and place where they're desired by everyone, because maybe if it wasn't for this bubble of secret they're feeling safe in, we all would realise that their music is nothing beyond. Aphex showed us recently that he's only the human, he was aware that it will be a great surprise for everyone if he put out his early stuff (while hardly mentioning about its existence, unlike BoC who likes to chatter so much, but doing nothing.) It's hard to put out a weak record if you have put out like four LP's during the last seventeen years. 8)
bet that's the reason why I'm metalhead actually, the authencity and being honest with audience is something I appreciate. This whole 'mystery' came to the stage where it has just became silly.

Me too! Until I got stoned and listened to it at night walking around empty streets. Then it was fucking terrifying. But normally it doesn't make me uncomfortable at all.

They aren't particularly mysterious anymore. They have opened up quite a bit since the old days.

When it comes to their low output, I'm inclined to think they are afraid of putting out utter shit. That is an admirable quality in my book, idk about you. Aphex Twin is great but he has NO quality control, a lot of his stuff doesn't do him justice (looking at you second half of Syro).
