After The Flood and New Grass have almost convinced me by this point that everyone should give up on recording and move onto other forms of expression, hehe. Every single second contains its own little brilliant performance; certainly music at one of its many beautiful peaks.

I think New Grass is definitely their track that casts the biggest influence elsewhere. Two high profile examples which made me think of it straight away, both great tunes in their own right -

This one's blatant -

Psychedelic tinged Krautrock, very much influenced by bands like Can and Neu!. Good stuff here.

Dinosaur Jr. - Pieces.

One of the few bands who were as good or better when they reformed. J Mascis got that chainsaw guitar tone down.

Don't even care it's a double post, what fucking great band they are.

that was great Fugdee, thanks.

I've always had a mild interest in Dino Jr. I enjoy You're Living All Over Me for the most part and absolutely love their track Watch the Corners.

Having rewatched it for the first time as an adult, the scene this track is used in really took me by surprise. I never expected any part of a Tarantino film (as much as I love them) to make me cry, but that scene is just amazing. The whole thing just screams "victory!" :]

Watch the Corners is a lovely track, another really good example of them being as strong when they reformed. You're Living All Over me is considered by most to be their best work, I love it but my personal favourite is Bug, so many savage yet melodic tunes. For me, there is something really attractive in their slacker/raucous punk crossover aesthetic, plus for someone who is into guitar sounds, J Mascis is the go to man, it's hardly a surprise that him and K Shields are buddies. Check out one of my favourites from Bug, great musicianship all round:

two posts in a row? Why not, I feel like it.
Machinedrum just seems to be going from strength to strength, and this isn't any different,
He reworked a Beyonce track with his new interest in footwork and old school breaks. His mellow take on footwork really works for me, especially as someone who finds some footwork to be a little uncompromising.
