Those are fan like me from Nick Drake should read: The Biography Nick Drake written by Patrick Humphries. Humphries has a lively feel for Drake's social context...This book works as a sad fable of an unusual casualty of the 1960s counterculture.

And something about the breif span of his life makes it all the more bleak... he's like the John Keats of the counterculture... (not in content but in effect)
