Jan 22 is the last date voyager sent back a transmission. It’s under the aquarius sign, the date of the first commercial flight of the 747, and marks the same amount of time between TCH and TH (which happens to be 70 days after nov 13th which was when Mars left retrograde).

"The first plaque was launched with Pioneer 10 on March 2, 1972, and the second followed with Pioneer 11 on April 5, 1973."

let's keep an eye also on these dates!

Just a funny tidbit, but speaking of the voyager spacecrafts, apparently BOC aren't the first Warp artist to base their art around it. OPN in 2018:

"Most excitingly though, We’ll Take It comes backed with the long-awaited worldwide availability of 'Trance 1' (a piece now officially released globally thanks to fan demand) which originally appeared as a Japan-only bonus track. Edited here into an arrangement that paid tribute to The Voyager Spacecrafts’ Golden Records that held sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and was sent out to be found by extraterrestrial life forms."

I just thought this was funny. I've always thought of OPN as a guy who used the twisted, 21st century electronic weirdness of Geogaddi as a blueprint for a lot of his work.

Forgive me for the second post, but I was wondering if the Pioneer's Plaque is actually an advert for a BOC version of Plaid's Trainer? Here me out for a second. The 2CD Plaid rarity comp covers 1989 to 1995 (Same era as the lost BOC stuff) with an early EP and other hard to find early stuff.

The Pioneer's Plaque could be the theme for the BOC rarity comp with "sounds and images" of Hexagon Sun in their formative years to be sent out to extraterrestrials (the rest of the world.) Societas had a similar theme too but with other people's music.

For now, I'm leaning towards that. Hell, back in 2002, Trainer was mentioned: (though we should never trust anything they say in those old interviews since a majority of it never came to fruition :P)

Interviewer: Rumour has it that Warp bought the rights to the old Music 70 recordings. Is that true? Do you think they will do a 'Mbuki Mvuki/Trainer' in the near future?

Mike: Maybe.

Oh man. Hopefully we'll get that boc-set soon. I know we've all been waiting for quite a long time,
you're in a psycho war, that's what your permit's for

There's something about this song, man. I keep coming back to it, too.

Believe it or not, this song (and Tarantula by Colorbox) are the closest to BOC to me than any of the drones or the krautrock. There's something about it that makes me think of a very nostalgic memory that is only vaguely remembered and sort of tragic because of it. A lot of BOC's classic work is lost in that sad nostalgic haze too.

It also sounds like a really depressed Jem and the Holograms.

Post script: I also wanted to say thanks for giving us a reason to listen to it again, Hopekeeper. It's been a rough year and many, including myself are looking for reasons to be happy again. This is a nice reflective song to play for the end of the year. It's fitting that it's one of the last songs on the tape too.

Probably the most convincing out of the whole set. I don't personally believe any of BoC's music is SxT but if i had to put my money on one track, this might be it
no information at this moment in time

I dunno. Srimannarayana seems a lot more suspicious than some random ambient track. Pretty sure that's a Geogaddi outtake

Hehe, that's my upload. This one actually ended up being more 1:1 than the Suraiya edit I did (which is on the same channel).

Also, honestly? I'd be really happy with annual Societas broadcasts from the brothers. There's so much thought and care put into almost every aspect of the mix, it really is something magnificent, and for something like this to be broadcast on an annual basis would be a dream

So I wonder when the last three albums are going to be posted on IG? They seem to do two each week.

So two more this week, and then one more in the final week of Dec...along with something else maybe ;)

There's been four posts a week so far, with Wednesdays being skipped.

Mon Dec 7th - Squarepusher
Tue Dec 8th - Yves Tumor
Thur Dec 10th - Hudson Mohawke
Fri Dec 11th - Lorenzo Senni

Mon Dec 14th - Bibio
Tue Dec 15th - OPN
Thur Dec 17th - EPs and 12"s
Fri Dec 18th - FlyLo

I'm guessing Darkstar tonight, Autechre tomorrow, then it's lights out 'til next year.

Would any kind soul here be able to list out the speculative theories for 12/21 and 1/22? It's been a while, and I could use a refresher. Was 1/22 the exact amount of time between TCH and TH? (This equation comes to mind, A:B::B:C, ie TCH:TH::TH:LP5?)

Today marks the winter winter solstice, the great conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, and onset of the age of Aquarius. The 22nd does mark that same distance, it is also 70 days from Nov 13th (when Mars left retrograde).

The 22nd of Jan was also the first date a commercial flight of the 747 was taken.
