Obligatory writing teacher comment: This is kind of a non-sentence so I’m almost more interested. Is with whom the right phrasing? Playing a track isn’t the same as being with the artist. Did he mean “BOC, whom we will hear from more on Monday?” Either way, I’m listening in to find out.

Listening back, after he played the track, he said, "Boards of Canada, of whom more on Monday".

I don't recall an additional John Peel session mentioned before. That sounds promising, I suppose it is a possibility, but my money is on selected tracks by BoC, rather then them 'in session'.

Even as the resident Pollyanna, I think this probably means they're going to play the studio versions of Cowboy followed by an encore of Aquarius.

Though I could be wrong, and they could play an unreleased 12 minute The Way U Show as a premier for their new dance-pop album

Either things are coinciding, or it'll be another let down as per usual. I'd love for once for things to actually happen and who knows, maybe they will. I put on Tomorrow's Harvest last night, and after 2020, it made me more emotional than I ever felt listening to it, when before I disregarded it as sluggish and gloomy. Maybe they were simply giving us time for TH to sink in before the next chapter opens.

Man, Feb 27th is a great day to pop the cork my champagne, let it be!

Boards of Canada are the first band mentioned on Gideon coe's BBC6 broadcast page for Monday evening, all the bands mentioned are usually old sessions from way back,so there is a good chance it could be tracks from the peel Session again. :]

If any band needs a resident Pollyanna on it's fan forum, it's BoC!

Don't worry, I will always be one. At one point, one of these leads will actually lead to something. And I get a good feeling we're getting closer to that day. :D

(Especially because Warp aren't putting anything out except archival. They actually released a compilation for Hudson Mohawk's music from 2020. If they were truly in trouble, I'm pretty sure they couldn't put out a comp like that!)

Bad post in so many ways.

Lol, OK, the analogy was cringy. But I stand by the fact that it will that it would be careless on their part if they didn't release something considering all of the activity.

Didn't Kafka destroyed all his writtings, except those saved by his friend? Maybe, boc was also so unhappy, that it destroyed all the music and have to rewrote it again? Many times.

he did ! and funny enough, what he did leave behind he wanted them to be burned unread as well, but max brod (his friend you mentioned) dedicated his life making sure that all surviving kafka's work went into print

bit like boc's leaks (:

Personally, I've moved on from wanting the archival work and if they never release it/burn it, so be it. I'm excited for the next saga after TH and what kind of mental imagery they'll conjure up in my brain.

Holy hell, a shit tone of stuff happened while i was gone.

That being most of this stuff is either speculation or hoax.

I don't think tomorrow's broadcast will be about new stuff. 90% of the chance its just a boc playlist with random popular tracks. I don't think it's the peel session either because at this point we got a physical release and playing it back would have no purpose tmo.

I'm still waiting to see if we get some kind of continuation to the hellinterface's Pioneer "teaser" tho.

A blue dot randomly appeared beside my old YouTube channel today. I haven't logged into it in around five years.

This confirms my suspicion that the dot is not a reliable indicator.

Mary Anne Hobbs just said on 6music that Gideon Coe will be playing some archive material from Board of Canada later so I wouldn't get your hopes too high. I'll tune in just to see what he says about the brothers.

Will probably be the peel sessions but I'm still hopeful of a wildcard, they've been getting a lot more air time on radio 6 the last month or so, makes you wonder if they know something we dont!

FYI they tweeted the exact same thing on Jan 9th 2020. I admit that the tweet along with tonights archive recordings on 6 Music have piqued my interest though.

Just saw a news article that cicadas will be back in early May by the trillions. They’ve been dormant for 17 years (I still remember the last time like it was yesterday). The first video BOC posted to Instagram for Olson is also, of course, of a cicada.

They absolutely do! It is the Peel session for sure, but there is a reason for the increased air time. The few DJs that play BoC are anticipating the new album as much as us.

I can't record it, but you can listen to BBC 6 Music through an app called Tuneinradio.
