Here's a fun quote from MDG back in 2009:

We're also a bit further along though. I'd give it one or two more years. Or hell, even this one if we're truly lucky.

I think this is a good example why he doesn't tell us anything though. It's for ours and his own good.

I was hoping for a mid-cycle EP, like IABP or trans canada highway. We didn't get an ep between Geogaddi and TCH, but the wait between those two wasn't long at all.

I was mostly referring to the "more than one record" part.

Next year is 20th anniversary of Geogaddi. TH was released on the 15th annyversary of their first record. I'm sure there will be something huge on the 20th anniversary of the second and arguably most aclaimed record to date.

Lithograph time! And new shirts :P (Which I will buy.)

Big shame if they do that. Geogaddi is my absolute favorite electronic record in history.

Also, Geogandi, i didn't mean you either. I mean all the copycats afterwards. I think your plan was Joker-esque, in a good way. And again, we got the Pioneer Plaque afterwards, so perhaps you should do it again haha

love my mhtrtc anniversary tee

Knew nothing about these. Seems, like this is a 20th annyversary t-shirts [https://bleep.com/release/100873-boards-of-canada-boc-green-two-boys-logo-on-black-t-shirt]. Also where'r mentioned lithographs?

If not music, or even something physical, I would love to get some deep dive read in to the creation of Geogaddi. Mhtrtc was just a little far away from my generatio, the Geogaddi is directly connected to my discoveries of electronic music. My first boc track was from Geogaddi and overall boc took my attention because of this album.

The music is more convincing, for sure. I think the sample/field recording is what's selling it to me.

The visuals on the first clip seem more BoC-esque though. The balloon clip seems a bit too random/silly, and the cinematography itself is cleaner and more defined than the footage usually associated with Boards.

Anyway, in all honesty, I don't think there's any relevance, I'd love to be proven wrong though!

i disagree about the visuals. the only reason the "turn that smile upside down" clips is any more BoC like is that it is grainy / VHS like or something, but otherwise personally i would argue it is less BoC like with the subject matter.. but still, i find the music pretty much just as convincing..

it's just on this italian clip it gives us a bit more meat to chew on, and to me it sounds very, very Geogaddi like. also, personally i find this italian clip more convincing even though it isn't like chewed up VHS style - the changing colours mixed with the presence of a balloon isn't too far off in my opinion. but to me, the video isn't as important because it would probably be Adult Swim totally in charge of that aspect.

So if Pioneer plaque date is 1972-03-02, could boc in their next record, got back to their warmer 70's nostalgic sound. TH was influenced by 80 vhs horror movies, tho it was a darker and colder album.

the smile clip is heavy Tomorrow's Harvest vibes, and the Italian clip sounds very Geogaddi to me.

so if these are real (not saying they are), it seems like we might be getting a nice range of sound on this one.

personally, i'm actually finding these clips rather convincing. more so after seeing the Italian one.

i wonder if we may have missed any?

Probably yes, I opened that clip randomly so there might be other ones around there, maybe even in AS pages in other languages? By the way I'd be very surprised if they decided to send a message through a page in italian.

I was introduced pretty late to boc, maybe three years ago only or so. geogaddi is my favorite album of all time and as a """producer""" (i insist on the quote marks), I still can't figure out how they turned the flutes/whistles or whatever on Julie and Candy into this cacophony using two tape decks, how the hell they found that melody in Dandelion (one of my favorite melody they ever wrote), the "bleep" sound in The Beach at Redpoint, the drums/percussions on Gyroscope, if the flute on Opening the Mouth is actually sampled from another record or played by them, and a lot of other things - but I don't want to look like an obsessive fan lol. so, of course a read/article/book on the production in geogaddi would be insane but I guess i can still dream of it as it - probably - won't ever happen.

I for one am still convinced that the AS "turn that smile upside down" is BoC. Not sure we'll ever find out for certain! I could imagine the backing track replaced with "Uritual" and it would still work perfectly.

I still have the belief that Sometimes was a sneak peak at their new sound, and indeed, it's warmer, sweeter and more nostalgic than TH. The "you okay?" also makes me think it might be a consoling album.

I distinctly remember it not being so well received by a few people. One dude even said it was proof BOC 'lost it.' I'm the opposite. It's my favorite production of theirs from the 2010s.

Edit: Also the italian Adult Swim clip is growing on me. Definitely sounds like one of their weird acid influenced tracks, like Sherbert Head.

I wasn't convinced of this one, but it sounded so familiar...then I realized that the ambient noises in the background on this clip are so flipping similar to the Hooper Bay Circle clip that I'm just finding it impossible at this point to not hear BoC in this one. Of course, that would be insane, right?

Listen to them both together and tell me I'm crazy

Do you mean the original melody that you can hear when you reverse the track?

Was checking boc pages after a while and under the old website information that has some salvaged images from said site, the pioneer plaque is there. Did someone recently add that or has that always been there? Im starting to think we're not getting a new album, but the legendary boccset..

Fun Theory: What if the adult swim tracks are outtakes that will be in the upcoming BOC set?

Especially since one sounds like TH and another sounds like Geogaddi.
