Idk if they would play us like that. I am really hoping they give us something this year, it's been almost 10 years since tomorrows harvest! if they haven't given us anything by 2023 i'll be rather miffed...

This was the last thing I read online last night before I went to bed. I think it may have inspired a hilarious Boards of Canada dream, which I haven't had a in a long time.

Turns out you were all correct to some extent. The new album drops and it has a space theme. The album cover seems to feature a multitude of alien races with some giant alien text scrolled across the top. The best part though, was that some of us on the board were gifted box sets... but it turned out to just be boxes they sent us fans after they cleaned out their garage. Old holiday cards, burnt out light bulbs. That kind of thing.

Definitely made me chuckle.

 Less cruel than getting 1.8 seconds of Spiro though

Oh I meant the pioneer plaque was posted in September 2020, so maybe we'll get something in September 2021. Merely an idea, probably as wrong as everything else was :P

And who knows, Warp could be getting ready for something big. After all, the Tomorrow's Harvest event was a big fiesta with an ARG, an album release and a reissue campaign.

I like to think that Boc have been really busy for the last 8 years and that when we do get a release there'll be a flurry of EP's and other bits to come, maybe a DVD of pure heady goodness, plenty of bands have had big gaps followed by massive activity.

Hopefully they'll have something to share with us for all the radio silence, I thought this might be the case after TH and I was fully expecting an EP around 2014 but I guess you can't win them all

I just wanted to say I find it amusing how many obscure samples have been turning up lately, yet several full tracks on Societas X are still missing!

I think I want the Societas X Tape tracklist to be fully found first because I get the most of it since I get to explore the artist and hear the full song. Both are exciting but seeing a new discovery in the SXT thread makes my day.

Agreed. The ones that have yet to be found are among my favorites. Like 6 and 57. My own personal hunt for those has led me through so much cool music.

That short “string” piece towards the end right before the Bruce Haack song does something strange to me. When I hear it, I imagine that I’m seeing my grandmother (grainy/choppy black and white) when she was in her early 20’s (1930’s). It makes me then realize how her memories are gone, and I can only imagine what she was thinking back then. I generally listen to music as if it’s part of a soundtrack to my life, but in this case I listen to that song as if it was the soundtrack to my grandmother’s life.

I know that's a silly way to look at it and I don't feel this way 100%, I just would love a cracking album that I want to play as much as MHTRTC, Geo, TCH.

I think you have a point. After all, their best albums didn't have such a fanfare, and like you, it took me a bit (aka living through 2020) to truly appreciate the raw angst of Tomorrow's Harvest. They definitely succeeded in making an album that could be reevaluated several years down the line.

But the ARG might have felt a bit inappropriate since there were such merry festivities for such a dark album. It would be even funnier if they release a more positive album without any celebration. Simply letting it speak for itself.

In my mind, TH is even more trippy, for this, listening to it during the calm summers days of 2013. The whole album vibe was about something is about going to happen... Both trippy and alarming feeling...

Man maybe I'm in the majority. I loved the ARG, my hype was at an all-time high, and the first listen of TH on the transmission stream just blew me away.

That said, at this point I'd be happy with anything, even a record dropped with zero promotion or forewarning. I just want new music.

What do you think about this channel? Looks like he used to drop similar music to societas x tape and today, after approximately 2 years of inactivity, a Blue dot appeared in the notification panel beside the channel name.

Haha what if we get the inverse? Dark empty days full of misery and we get a warm astral album! That's Sometimes for me. "You okay?" ;)

455 pages have passed since the TH ARG kicked off.

That's an average of about 57 pages per year.

I wonder how many more pages there will be before the next new album?

747 pages. Perhaps we'll get the new album on page 6010

Posting on page Seven Forty Seven.

I hope the brothers are doing well, and that new music will come to light soon.
