Just lots of Marcus throwing ping ping balls into a glass from across the room. And we wonder why the albums take so long..

It makes me wonder... because if he didn't sign in for a huge amount of time, it begs the question if he was just lurking a bit here and there-- reading stuff without being signed in. It interests me to know that he has been signing in a lot lately when he could just be reading stuff without taking the effort to log in each time. Not revolutionary, but still kind of interesting.

I am listening to TH while at work, and to be honest, it has been several months since I have listened to BoC- which is very unusual for me. I even moderate the subreddit, so I am still thinking about them and what their music means to me all the time. I still think I hold the record for listening to Societas X the most amount of times :P

I am hoping with every fiber of my being that this will be the year.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe <3

Welcome back Mozart! I miss your positivity on the forum! I'm going to stay positive too, surely Warp's only release this year won't just be Squid. I still like to think they're working on something during all this down time and we all might be surprised what we get. :D

....but what propellant is Marcus using? Are they tracking the trajectory of the ball to create pentagrams? If the videos are played backwards, do we unlock a website? GODDAMN IT, MEXI! YOU'RE LEAVING US ALL HANGING HERE! hahaha

It's kind of odd to me. If you look at 2020 - tons of releases. 2019 - tons of releases. 2021 - stereolab and f'ing squid lol, and it's almost April.

We should probably just keep waiting until the middle of the year. Some of warp's biggest releases (OPN, AE) came in October. I suspect BoC will be at least giving us something around that time...

Pandemic? There's no point for industry to release new music, especially live bands, when it cannot be promoted right. No touring, festivals, etc. Most income comes from these places. Album sales and streaming, not so much. Club music doesn't make much sense now when it cannot be heard in right environment. Who knows when will we be able to witness a couple of thousand people at a concert. I don't even want to mention carefree time before all this.

Pretty sure that BOC fans would actually buy the physical/digital media if they dropped something. I mean, we are the people who have enormous bidding wars over a child's toy. (Geogaddi Kaleidoscope)

Not to mention the last BOC performance was two decades ago. This will be the 20th anniversary of it soon. Probably the furthest thing from a touring band. As soon as they realized they were famous enough to be recorded, they quit forever.

Warp went into maximum overdrive promoting a Pere Ubu tribute act

Maybe, but Warp had 31 releases in 2020.

This is from the very old XLR8R interview.

We might just one day never see another album when they feel that what they have made is so perfect that they could have should have retired ...

I just hope it wasn't Tomorrow's Harvest. Not that it's bad, it's just that good that I want more.

If that is the case then I hope their next album (if there even is a next album) won't be perfect.

But then we wouldn’t have gotten m b v, which I personally like a LOT more than loveless.

One thing always struck me as curious about this.

The interview was published in 2001. At that time, Loveless WAS MBV's last album. They didn't release another until 2013.

So what did they mean by "if they had never released another album"? That makes it sound like they knew there was another album in the works.

Glad I'm not the only one in the m b v > Loveless camp.

Loveless still rips though.

The bros personal accounts or just the Warp-run BoC account? Either way that's pretty cool, maybe there'll be some transmisiones being posted soon...

They're probably just wanting to finally wish Davie Addison a merry Christmas

I highly doubt it. maybe they meant "If they never will release another album" It is weird though I agree. maybe instead they did knew MBV wouldn't release one for over a decade because mbv did break up in 1997.
