This is from the very old XLR8R interview.

One thing always struck me as curious about this.

The interview was published in 2001. At that time, Loveless WAS MBV's last album. They didn't release another until 2013.

So what did they mean by "if they had never released another album"? That makes it sound like they knew there was another album in the works.

I highly doubt it. maybe they meant "If they never will release another album" It is weird though I agree. maybe instead they did knew MBV wouldn't release one for over a decade because mbv did break up in 1997.

Fredd-E recently said that the brothers have not "daft punked" us.

MDG wouldn't log on as consistently if there wasn't something to talk about.

These are the sentiments that keep me going...that and Echelon's optimism.

Mike and Marcus are going to make music until they die. It's just a matter of whether they'll release it. They'll never 'announce' the end of BoC - that much I'm certain of.

Amen to that.

How great would it be if they shared something new when they are 80, after a 30 or so year hiatus?

I’m just pumped to eat some boomers and soak a new album in first go out in the woods.

They might make music until they die, but still announce the end of BoC.

This is what I think Daft Punk have done, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up hearing new music from Thomas or Guy in the future.

They're busy teaching their kids how to make music. The Sandison family line will keep BoC alive forever

I believe he's talking about the official BoC page. Its profile pic is an image of the bros with a turquoise filter

They did say they made a lot of music out of context of the BOC project and it might see the light someday. I really think they might be working on a hypothetical project that might finally tie the bow on things in their BOC catalog. Whether it be unreleased songs or a final word about the future from a new album. Maybe both.

I'd be content with that. I'd much prefer that to the way Daft Punk ended things, but I personally think the BOC are more substantial than them, (despite them being geniuses in their genre) so we don't have to worry.

Not the official page for BoC, but the fan page that the fans created and run.

Now, I'm from the US so I've got no knowledge about this, but I'm wondering if Brexit and trade issues are what are keeping Warp from releasing stuff before May 7th. I heard there were some problems in the EU with that, but again, I've really got no idea and don't want to put words in their mouth. Perhaps someone more qualified to speak on the matter can further this discussion.

That said, if that is the case, perhaps May 7th is when they've cleared up all the legal issues and can release stuff again.

Perhaps they've even been preparing for a huge BOC release in the meantime. I mean June is the following month and that contains a true BOC holiday. (June 9th!)

The new album is on a container ship stuck in the Suez Canal.

I mentioned this a good while ago that this period of time we're having is insanely effecting all business and Warp are just as vulnerable as anyone else. This coming year is going to be testing and it's not going to be a normal one so as far as their typical schedule, we might be seeing some changes.
Brexit itself is a huge fuckup for us in the UK and it's affecting everything negatively apart from politicians narratives and pockets. They literally give zero fucks about music and the arts in general so again, we'll be seeing some big changes to the industry, especially with live performances.
You could feel the bullshit

I dunno dood, why did they have such a huge roll out this past fall?

I hope they have hope that people would still find pleasure and the means to support Warp and the bros despite everything.
