Fascinating. If we consider the actual movements of the band from 2013-2021, the behavior patterns are quite similar to 2011.

The Plaque banner and the trolling material could basically be the equivalent of the nuke bomb banner, black box and the New Clear Dawn website. If that's true, it means they're getting ready to make their move and we'll emerge from these dark days in maybe a year or two. Hopefully at least. I'm really hoping for this year though.

Also New wave, Goth? All these were in SxT,
By exploring all these styles I've noticed that bros have much more in common with Spanish and Italian tape scenes than with anything else that was going on at that time in the UK.

Right now I'm thinking they will pursue a more 'glitchy' style of sound design. A bit of Autechre type stuff but still melodic with traces of the classic BoC sound

*EDIT* I quoted the wrong message, haha

Those were the days I started on the forum. The black box created all kinds of controversy, we got the site, then...nothing, for so long.

I hadn't been as engaged with this place as I was during the TH campaign - it was such a fun time and I hope (selfishly) whatever we get next is at least more than just a "press release". I think is what is driving a lot of this clue hunting, as I'm sure I'm not alone.
There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

New Autechre or old Autechre?
I’d love an amber-esque boards of Canada album.

Something more similar to their newer stuff almost sounds cooler though.

I remember hanging on to every reviewers' word and being so excited. "Song starts off with a deep drone....."

OK so I don't know if the Fortnite connection has been debunked or not, but I told my son to look out for BoC related stuff appearing, specifically hexagon-related and he informed me today that a crop circle has appeared on one of the fields on the Fortnite map......

You can see the images here -

Remember, a hexagon alone does not a BoC make. They're simple six-sided polygons, anyone can make one easily without knowing about BoC. Now, if you replace the sun with it or color it turquoise then that's a different story :P
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

No this is a lie! Every hexagon in a beehive is a BoC drone record made for bees!

After tomorrow, there will only be one release in the Warp itinerary. Land--er...I mean Lone Lady.

Joking aside, she sounds like Warp’s take on St. Vincent. Not bad, but man, I hope we get a new IDM release from them soon.

Yup. It was in preparation for New Clear Dawn, which as I understand was poised to release sometime around 2010 or so and went through a troubled development, leading eventually to Tomorrow's Harvest, which I'm sure borrows/is based heavily on material from that time yet is something entirely different. Exactly what the differences may have been along with the theme or quality of the album we might have originally received, we'll never know.

I have a feeling that Boards ran with the idea of creating an album that takes the form of a soundtrack - a poorly compiled one (pieces "ending before you want them to", tracks from the actual 'film' completely missing and pieces of various quality sourced from bootlegs only released in foreign countries, that sort of thing) at that - largely because it was convenient and perhaps allowed the two of them (or possibly mostly just one of the two, so I've also heard) to construct/finish most of the thing in time for a release so Warp would stop yelling at them.

I could be entirely wrong, but I've spent years thinking about it and it continues to make more sense. To their credit, they did a really good job at making the best out of the situation and actually releasing an album that very well may not have ever come at that point.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

Yeah, thanks...I didn't spend nearly two whole years driving myself crazy trying to "crack" the record to no results.

I now merely just enjoy many parts of it and accept it as it is in my headcanon.

I'm sure we'd all like to hear more about why New Clear Dawn had to be shelved. I don't remember ever hearing anything about that. I do however remember everyone hating the idea of the new record being called that!

I always thought the NCD thing was either a component in the long lead up to TH, or simply just a misdirection.

MDG: "the new album has been held up over the past year by one or two issues outwith the band's control, but it is finally coming out in 2010."

I have a feeling this is why MDG doesn't talk to people on the forum anymore

Where did you hear this? Though it definitely makes sense since they were apparently living in different countries at the time

I feel like this Hell Interface "I feel good" nonsense is another misdirection haha. This time it's an even more obvious FIORD.

Though with the Pioneer's Plaque being posted on Hell Interface's Youtube/Bandcamp, it is possible that HI plays a role in whatever they're doing next.

I like the theory that whatever they're doing, they might feel more comfortable doing it under the HI name.

I think the Hell Interface thing was just them saying hello. I'm not hedging any bets or anticipating anything exactly, but I still hold on to my belief that they're going to just drop something relatively soon

TBH, I think they care as much about the TH anniversary as the 20th anniversary for Beautiful Place. Which is nothing.

I bet Warp was the one pushing for the festivities for Music's 20th Anniversary. Music Has The Right To Children didn't even get a fancy deluxe reissue like Squarepusher's Feed Me Weird Things did yesterday.

Excuse my negativity on this matter, Happy 8th birthday TH! Here's hoping one day they polish up what was left on the cutting room floor!
